isnt it economy mode on the auto?? if so press the power button
there is more than likely a fault in your vacuum system and/or broken ECO switch. the ECO light should only come on when you floor it.
the switch turns on that light when there is close to 0hg vac in your manifold. this light just lets you know that your getting poor fuel economy.
assuming its the light on the far right in the photo of my dash?

Thanks guys.
Yes it is the economy light.I know it runs by vacuum, and I have checked all of the hoses and I can't seem to find any leaks, unless I am looking at the wrong thing.Does the tube run directly from the manifold to the light, or does it go elsewhere first? If I knew where to look I might have half a chance of seeing where it is leaking !
Thanks again

Just a quick question, are those electronic dash's easy to have installed or is there work that needs to be done, i thikn i saw something on that somewhere else on the forum so ill go have a look now, just thought id ask though incase theres a quick answer!
Alex.
eco switch sits on the firewall... have to get you a photo some day of it
but this is about where it sits... next to the wiper motor

it's not too bad to install. i did a write up once
but it's kinda outdated as i solved many of the problems and now i've put the TP dash in instead of the TN.

Sorted ! Thanks guys. I pulled the switch apart and the diaphragm had perished, so all I need to do is replace it and the problem I have had for the last 5 or so years will be gone! Thanks,Tools

there are hundreds of TM,TN and TP elites here!
the digital dashs dont fit straight in though, you need to wire the digi dash plugs to your car's wiring loom. speedo cable is eliminated and replaced for the pulse generator. need to run a few extra wires for a few things (constant 12v+ to keep trip computer, etc)
Putting the TP elite dash in with the climate control involves putting in the whole climate control system in. you need a lot of parts to do it, but it's not impossible. madlante and i have done it. you will need the dash out for a day or two and have a factory manual handy to adjust the mix motor, check the sensors working, wire to old loom, etc. also wing controller needs to come apart to change over the switches.
