hey guys, currently im saving/buying/getting ideas and equipment for my new(est) install, the planned system is as follows

head unit- pioneer double din dvd unit avh6850 i think is the model number
front stage- sticking with my trusty focal 165 k2p's
subs- 2x image dynamics idmax's :D :D
sub amps- 2x digital designs m1a's, strapped for 2ohm (1200rms at 1ohm, 2500rms at 2ohm strapped i think)
front stage amp- digital designs c2a or something similar from the dd range
signal and power cables-will be keeping the current cables in the car which is stinger pro 0awg and 2awg.... the running theme in the interior of my car is black/blue so this will be continued into the boot, so im gonna change the visable cable to the blue stinger hpm series, and the stinger rca's will be kept aswell, 1 cos theyre top notch and 2 theyre ble so they tie in nicley with wat im trying to acheive, might get a nice cap just for a bit off "boot bling"

now i know what i wanna do with the subs as far as the install goes, they will be reverse mounted in a custom built f/g front box so they are angled off to the sides a bit, but im trying to get ideas for the rest of the boot but i cant find any web sited with plenty of pics etc so i get get ideas and go to audio shops etc and show them what im after and get quotes etc... any one know of some good sites, sound domain is a pain in the ass so dont mention that pls haha, other than that every one chuck in your ideas and websites and help a brother out :D

put the subs behind the tail lights and the amps behind the rear seat
this keeping most of your boot space while looking neat and tidy
amps would be on a custom panel with perspex over them to show them off abit
and maybe a riceon... i mean neon for abit of lighting
and no dont get a cap, get another battery installed into the boot or upgrade the orginal battery
and dont you have a alpine CDA-9835?? what happen to that deck

boot space isnt an issue... im getting another car (old ute of some sort) soonish, i was gonna put the subs behind the tailight section, i even had some fibre glass boxes lined up to buy off here, but the guy musta turned deaf, dumb and blind after i tried to finalise it with him so that never happened,as for the alpine i sold that to my pa.... after i ended my short lived sq idea all that tuneability and functions wasnt needed, still undecided on the cap, i know they do f*ck all but i want it to be a bit showy and lets face it, they do look kinda cool (voltage display ones anyway!), a battery upgrade is definatly on the cards, blue neons will be splashed about liberally in there to, im thinkin the 2 mono's under a false floor with perspex covering them, maybey with dd logo etched on it, and the 2 channel in one side behing tail light (flush mounted) and cap on other, basically i want a cap just to make up numbers, ya know, to keep it symetrical so one area of the boot isnt blank, oh and screen/s will be applied somewhere also :D

(if your wondering why all this is being done, depending on how i go, ill be entering auto salon this year with my mate, faling that get it ready for a full aussalt next yr hehe)

hmmm you said before that you were going to use your tire well
maybe have the two subs firing into the tire well but have them on a angle pointed to the side of the car, as in one pointing to the right and one to the left if you are looking into the boot
then have the amps mounted in a semi-circle around the back to the sub (behind the rear seat)
i reckon that would look quite nice but would be a fair amount of work to build it
but it would have to be a hard to build install just incase you change your mind about what you want in your car :P

as for subs, pointed into the corners at the front, drivers aimed into the middle of the car... just for the hell of it :)

and.... i could give u an idea for something u could mount to the ski port, to aim into the boot... but its too cool for ur boot :)

you can get the avh 6850 for $1650 new, i'd tend to buy it new for warranty purposes...

i have one and its awesome, does everything i want and more (well when i get the avg vdp-1 anyway)

i've had mine for about 8mths now now worries.... it's highly reccomended... and the nob tried to sell me the kenwood for the same price :nuts:

ive got a million and one install ideas but it really comes down to your imagination.. im plotting a stupidly difficult install atm, but wether it goes further than the design process is undetermined
