Hi Guys and Gals,

I'd like to get the V3000 lowered. Now i have a parts car that I can take the springs off and get them professionally shortened and re-tempered. Is it worth it? I'm not sure on pricing yet but I'll be asking around this week.
Also, how much lowering is reasonable? I don't want it un-drivable. I was thinking of 50mil off the front and 30 off the back.

Comments??? :doubt:

Cheers

Not worth it mate.
In Aus we can get 4 New lowered Springs for Approx $220-$240. Your better off doing that.
And ill just quickly mention, DONT Get the front lowered more then the rear, If your gonna do 50 Front, Get the rear done 50mm Too, With a full carload it looks ok But when its just you driving the rear sits VERY high (tmichelsons can vouch lol)

yup, perfect drop would be 3" Front 4" Rear, i went 3@front and 2.5@rear n my back sits up high.

cant really see the hight at the back on the angeled one, but there is definatly a frontward lean lol

Thanks for the advice. The reason I was going to go lower on the front was because there is soooo much more of a gap between the front wheel and the guards.

But I'll concede to superior know how and maybe go 40 front and rear. The rear gap is quite small and I don't want to rub the new tyres

I just wanted the wheels to fill up the arches so I lowered my front 2½inches and the back 1½inches and to me, it looks like it's all straight and even now. Because the front sits way higher than the rear. So if you dump it say 2½ all round, won't the back cover some of the rear wheel?

That's what I was thinking. Now I'm all confused. :fruitcake:

What do I do???? :doubt:

How big are your wheels?
Best thing to do is get a tape measure and measure how much inches it is from the front and how much in the rear then decide how you'd like it to sit.

But i've always known our cars to need to be lowered more in the front so it looks even.

This is what mine looked like after lowering it 2½ front and ½ back with 17"s

Here is the car as it is now.

Changes are:
Wing from a mid nineties VR4
Tinted windows
Pioneer head unit and 6x9s
Avanti 17x8 "Acute" shadow chrome alloys with 225 tyres
Diamante front bar
KS parabolics with the orange indicators
Added A/C
Added electric windows.

What I want to do in the coming months:
Lower it (NO!!! I hear you say. Really!!! :bowrofl: )
Paint the calipers
Detail the engine bay

Got a couple of quotes:

Chamberlains = $80 per pair
Bellamy and East - $53 per pair

Both are in ChCh. I've kept the springs from the parts car that I had so it'll be those that lowered. That way I can always go back to original if necessary.

Thanks. I've been thinking of loosing the pinstripe but I kinda like it as it breaks up the side of the car, if you know what I mean. Dunno, I'll have to think some more :doubt:
