Hey guys, Just wondering on how cam gears work as such :)
A cam gear (or pulley) is a circular, toothed object and is directly bolted to the engine camshaft. The bolt is passed through a hole in the centre of the gear and the gear is kept in sync with the camshaft by a keyway. A timing belt or chain is used to engage the gear which in turn rotates the camshaft accordingly with engine rpm...
want me to explain any other aspects?

I think his query might have been specificly related to the adjustable variety lol

lol I know... i know... was just being a smart ass...
umm ok.. well basically an adjustable cam gear allows you to alter the cam/valve timing without having to change the cam profile. On a SOHC engine there are tradeoffs between the exhaust and inlet timing, and so finding the 'sweet spot' on a stock cam is alot harder than tuning a dohc motor.

Ahh ok.. Thanks just found my car goes very long through the gears wondering if they would help.

Ahh... no thats pretty unrelated. Long through driving gears is; transmission gear ratios and/or final drive ratios.
Basically changing diff gears or changing wheel sizes will alter your final drive.
You can make it shorter or taller.. you can give much better accelleration (quicker through the gears) but you will sacrifice top speed and highway drivability (car will sit at higher revs when doing 100km/h). Or vice versa, better top speed but slower accelleration (longer through the gears).

Yeah, im looking to get alot more pick up but i hardly ever drive long distance its all around the city. My problem is i think its gonna cost alot more then a RWD to change the diff because of being a FWD.

Yep probably... the simple way is to change wheels/tyres. :D
Larger wheels/tyres reduce the final drive, and smaller do the opposite (which is what you want - smaller wheels = better accel).

Oh great. Lol im putting 17 inch's on there in a week or 2 im hoping =\ but i already new id lose power from that lol. Oh well
