hey guys
I was just revving the car a bit and noticed that past 5000rpm there is a chirp sound. Its a manual. You can hear it only past 5000rpm. its a manual. its dead stock.
any suggestions ?

Yeah I get it in my tippy as it changes gears at high rpm - usually around the 6,000 mark for me iirc. One of those things I've been meaning to get the mechanic to check.
Im guessing it might be one of the non-timing belts slipping - alternator belt maybe.

This happens in neutral

Ill try mine tomorrow in neutral and see if it still happens. Belt's are still a plausible solution even if it's in neutral. When does it happen - is it just whenever the car goes over 5 or when its over five and you take your foot off the accelerator?

belt slippage / try new belts or spray with wd 40 see if there is a change ?
next alternator bearings or air con tensoner bearing
if undetermined the timing belt tensioner surface dry /water pump bearing

when its over 5 and i take my foot off
when its over 5 and i take my foot off
Mines always done it... doesnt sound nasty at all its more like trying to suck a hell of a lot of air through a suddenly closed throttle. As for in neutral I dunno I've never revved its tits off out of gear.

aircon on? its the compressor belt slipping, if its not on its just one of the other belts slipping a bit, mine usually does this when the aircons on, sounds terrible

Can't remember if AC was on. Mechanic says its just an exhaust problem which is not a thing to worry about!

Why you revving it over 5000 rpm anyway?
But what other people have said moslt likely the belts cause when your rev it up to that mark and then stop the tension slacks off a bit and the belts will be slack for 1 sec hench you will get the chirp sound.
Thats my theroy.

Belt slippage? Which belts and i how can i access them?
Timing belt tensioner dry - How can i lubricate it?
I was cleaning the car today and had the hood open. when i turned off the engine, there was a small grind like something is dry. Nothing big and you can only hear it if the hood is up?
I know nothing about car engines but is it normal for the car to let off white smoke when its cold outside and when engine is cold (first start of the day). Its not smoke but more like vapour ?
Someone please post and help me

yes it is normal the condensation /white smoke
the visable belts you can see do have an adjuster but need some flex
press your finger on the belt and check the flex so the belt isnt too loose
the belts make the alternator powersteering and airconditioning turn around
spray them with wd 40
grinding may be when you washed the engine bay some grit got caught in the belts
this bit ""if undetermined the timing belt tensioner surface dry /water pump bearing""
requires removal of the plastic timing cover more involved and only if the noise wont go away after trying the other suggestions
