2-3 weeks ago I was up in Sydney, decided to go to Pick n Payless at Blacktown see if I could chase up a towbar - I know Dimi, 'bout as useful as pockets in a jock-strap, but I've got a tinny & couldn't be bothered carrying it on my back :P .

Local mob quoted me $250, got it from PnP for $60 - happy as Larry :D now I've been wanting to put speakers in my TS for a while now, but the Minister for War kept saying NO, she didn't want to lose the map pocket, when I finished taking the towbar off, I checked out the Maggie next to it & bugger me dead, there's those speaker pod/panels I've been reading about 'round here - & bonus, it's got map pockets...yeehaa
The threads I've read here all mention to have the door speakers, the pockets need to be removed - that makes sense - & there's provision already for the speakers in the door, either put them there & use the grill/mesh that comes with 'em, or grab the panel/trims from a Verada, either way I figured I'd lose the map pockets :( Does the Verada have the pockets too, or did I get 'em from something (Magna wise) else? Either way, it wasn't a planned project & I win & the Minister wins...I'm excited

They came on the TR Elite, The KR XI and all KS Verada's.

Are far neater than jsut screwing the speakers on the trims as most do

Yeah, those trims are the best way to fit speakers in the 2nd gen doors.

Don't forget to take the plastic bit out if needed (behind the metal grille).
I had speakers installed by pros who didn't take this bit out. (I didn't know about it either).
When I had my new speakers installed, the new installer pros pointed it out too me and how these plastic bits were squashing my old speakers.

Only got a couple of 5" in I had laying round the shed, trims will have to come off when I get better speakers so I'll be looking @ deadening then :)

Thanks for that info (on models) madmagna, still getting my head 'round what's what :)

Puck, yep, currently plastic bits sitting on bench in shed, had to make board to attach speakers to doors. Top job on your system btw...I'm slightly green :bowrofl:

I have the door cards sitting here waiting to do the same thing, just waiting on some finances to buy the electric windows as my door panels don't have a hole for the winder.

I'm looking around for some dark grey ones for my TR.Hey Nick, can't remember if you are in Brissy, there's several @ the ABC wreckers Oxley. Cost me like $10-$15 for mine (pods only).

I'll be doing a writeup on howto install the pods on standard door trims shortly. Might save some cost rather than getting the whole trim (though I didn't get a quote for that).

Mrmacomouto, why not just put the hole through for your winders?

Because I want the power windows.

Congrats on a great buy. Very nice. Did you get two? Like one for passenger and driver side?

Oh and make sure you wire up those door lights too :D

Nice!

Wreckers wanted $15 each (full) panel, noticed the arm-rests were for the elec switches so I only took the bottom bit (pocket/grill & plastic pods), not till I removed mine from the doors that I noticed the arm-rests could be unscrewed & swapped over  :D
Could've saved myself a truck load of time :bowrofl:

Yep, got both sides Dimi, didn't want Maggie going down the road heavier on 1 side :P
