How many kms? Timing belt needs to be done every 100,000kms and is a $1000 service, so worth seeing if it's been done recently if the car is within +-10,000kms of the one or two hundred thousand mark.
If you're buying through private sale get an RACV check done on it. Well worth the $150 or so for the peace of mind that you're not buying a lemon, and if it is a lemon then the $150 for the check and not buying the car is a lot less than you'll end up paying to fix the thing if you did buy it.
Boot cover do you mean the black pseudo-leather stuff on the gearstick?? Every manual TE/TF i've seen has theirs worn to sh*t its terrible! I picked up a genuine monza leather replacement from supercheap for $20 and fitted it in replacement of mine.
