sure it cuts out dude!!
i had mine up to what i thought was the limit and it didnt cut...
the took it to 220km/h and it cut out 214km/h indicated on the gps
the speedo may be a tiny bit inaccurate and as always they are optimistic at high speeds, it will have the factory limiter unless its a ralliart set at 240km/h
on another note, my new ecu thats gone in tonight.... disables the factory cut :)
so next weeks late news breaking story.. man dies in spectacular fireball at 280km/h

I remember reading from Mitsu once that the 6G74 will max out at 256km/h.
My $0.02.

well according to the ratios, if you could pull redline in 5th (auto) you'd be doing quite a bit over 300km/h
but thats not possible

i dont know about anyone else, but my TE is 5 k's out... sounds like im not the only one. Could that have been done on purpose or would just some of the cars made have inaccurate speedos?

I've checked my car against several speed things and it appears the 3rd gen are 5km slower than what it reads on the speedo, mine was saying 105 and reading 110 on Hume, and in backstreets it was 47 at 51

The problem with speedo's is the way they operate. The place where the speedo takes it's measurements isn't all-together that accurate and so the manufacturer aims to get it correct at a critical point (usually 100km/h). But the inaccuracy of the gauge is minimal and the costs to implement a completely accurate speedo make it absurd to even bother trying (Or at least in a basic manufactured car).

my speedo is 3km/h high at 100km/h measured on gps.
limiter is at 215... mine hit 215 and dropped to 210 then back up again.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I reckon that the Exec/Advance/etc were speed limited to 213km/h, and the VRX was at 235... Don't know about the ralliart though. Factory speedometers are terrible for anything above about 110-115km/h. GPS is a far more accurate measure, but at higher speeds is generally still out by a couple Ks due to their "within 2m' accuracy range for positioning.
