Ive got my first issue with my car since i finished it.

'98 TF V6 Exec

Sometimes when i put on or take off a full steering lock i get a weird sound from somewhere near the colum or center dash area.
The only way i can describe the sound is (if you have ever done this) like dislocating a mans thumb!.
Its a blunt popping sound like cracking your knucles underwater.

Ive never heard this in a car befor and its got me pretty worried.
Im going in to mitsu for a service on friday next week but i want an idea of what it might be so i dont get a nasty shock to the wallet.

Any ideas guys?

have u chec you power steering fluid level?

mine was making a funny noise and when i checked my oil it was really low so toppped it up and all is well now

Ive had it for a while now, since I got my shocks changed by the mechanic. (More than likely unrelated)
I put some power steering fluid in and it went away for a month. It's returned a little now, so I probably have a small hole. I suggest you do the PS fluid check before anything.
