been looking through websites and in america the starions may have had a 12 valve head for the astron motors

They did, at one point. And a limited (very limited) number were produced. Something in the region of 100. They would be quite expensive if you managed to find one. Another point worth noting is that they were on the g54b (i think thats the one) which while being the same engine is a north-south orientation so they would be a task and a half to switch the heads over. Search it on google, there are a few sites that have discussed this. I think the DOHC astron in the starion put out something in the region of 170hp at the fly before turbo.
The mazda B2600 ute sold in australia had a 12 valve SOHC head made specifically for it by mazda, not sure if they would be any good though.

nah still a sohc just 12 valve. interesting that it was for america mostly and some japan starions

Your not speaking of the Jet Valve head are you?

i dont know if its the jet valve. if you cycle down to g54b in this website says 12 valve

The 12 valve head you speak of is a jet valve head. Jet valves are quite awful mainly because the springs are too weak. We block them off, or buy magna head because they flow about twice as good stock as out heavily portered JV head.
