I'm considering replacing the head unit in my KH Verada. I'm after something that I can connect my ipod to.

Any suggestions on a decent unit, and also does anyone know of a good installer in the Campbelltown area (NSW) ?

Max $300 + installation. The installation is the problem, I could walk into Strathfield and buy the head unit, its getting it installed by someone you can trust thats the problem.

go down to your local jb and have alook at there decks
i would suggest alpine or jvc
something with 3 pre-outs would also be handy if you want to add amps later
as for wiring it up, have a go yourself deck arent that hard to install
theres a wiring diagram at the top of the audio section
then just match the wires then soldier them together and cover with electrical tape and your done

i suggest JVC it one of the best brands out on the market then you get the cheap ones like schneider in my opinion it's an ok brand but for installer i think no limit is still open in campbelltown i think you dont have alot of independent car audio stores around campbelltown.

dont forget, you'll need an ipod adapter for any headunit, which will add atleast $100 to the total price... unless ur just gonna use RCAs. If you want to control the ipod thru the HU (much much safer) then u'll need the adapter.

if you can manage to take the dash off you yourself, wiring it is easy as pie. u can do it in 1 minute, literally. go down to Strath or maybe autobarn, buy the wiring adaptor for you car and your headunit. i did it to my mates rav 4, adaptors (aeropro $15 for both adaptor, mate rates) makes life so much easier, dont see it costing more than 30 bucks. plus 100% reversible
