View Full Version : Heaps of quesitons
Hi Guys,
I am a newbie here and have just purchased a TJ01 last year. Currently doing 108k. I have got the timing belt and spark plug changed last x'mas.
I am wondering what kind of service is required around that 108k mark and the approx. cost? Since I don't get the logbook when purchase.
Any recommended mechanic to repair or check the car near Ryde NSW? If possible, a reliable but reasonable also.
Last, can I purchase a electric window for the car? SInce I have got the manual one. Please kindly advise on where to buy and how much.

I have a 1999 TH and the service in the logbook is 105,000km, and it is in 10,000km increments from memory.
I just completed this service, and it cost me $300 as I had a couple other minor things which needed doing, inc clutch and brake fluid. I didnt need the spark plugs done though as I had them changed to platnium at the 95,000k service along with the timing belt etc.
Basically all the service was, was a change in transmission and engine oil and a thorough check over the rest of the car, lines, fluid levels, brakes, suspension etc. So shouldn't be very expensive. If anyone quotes you over $300 they are ripping you blind.
More suggestions? Please help guys...

well norm every 10,000 its just a oil change and a oil filter change but talk to the the person that would be servising your car and just get him to look over it and see if any thing is wrong.... thats what i did i needed mt auto trans checked and breack pads and disks machined cost me $$$$$$$$$$$500:rant:
My is 99TH and i believe all models aftervards have the same service schedule.
Service interval is 15000 Km , so your car was due for service at 105000 Km.
On my car they replaced engine oil and filter, three platinum spark plugs, auto transmission fluid and filter, fuel filter, wiper blades, engine additive, engine flush, washer additive, they charge you for preparation material and enviro levies.
Cost was $419.95 in December 2002.
If your car is manual they will change oil in transmission also at 105000 service.

TJ, this is all pretty much on the money (bad pun). The only thing which I would add is that if the car is auto trans (and given that you have just taken the car over) a good precaution is to have the trans filter replaced and make sure that the trans is refilled with Mitsu spec fluid
Guys,
Thanks for your help. Is Gordon Mitsubishi is a reasonable in price to do service? ANy other suggestion near NSW?
I will probably need the trasnmission service and also the fuel, since it is consuming quite a high volume now.
Guys, any recommended repairer. I am willing to travel anywhere in sydney if required.
