Well it's fairly pointless for the driver, however the back seat passengers seem to love it in my car, hence why it lives in the glovebox, unmentioned.

ditto.
4 hour trip up the coast with a full car + friends finding remote? Hell.

nar see heres the thingg i reckon ive used the remote more cause u know how theres a cap between the hand brake and the thingy u can stick stuff in like the glove box but next to u that thing i put the remote holder there cause u can just click it off and it never falls off.

i had the remote in my hand so i dont have to lean forward while driving, but the best use was, when using your car for music at a party, just aim and point, whithout jumping in and out of the car, but i lost my remote (spewin)

it was handy with my previous jvc unit as it was easier to skip songs with a small remote with 4 buttons than leaning forward mucking around with the unit
my eclipse unit is very easy though :D - the turn wheel **** me off @ first cause it was so sensitive but use 2 it now

meh, not difficult for me to reach the stereo (wat is it, 10cm away from the shift knob?)
and as before, rather not have passengers messing around with it :doubt:

Its good when you are out of the car with the stereo gonig for a group of people, you can change songs, volume etc from outside the car

mines got a remote that rivals most dvd 5.1 dolby digital surround sound theatre etc etc... ones... and then all the buttons have 3 different functions depending on what mode its it!!! i just leave it in the centre consol thingy, its a pain

i love my remote, i use it more than leaning over to change music. its good for back seat but only when im in it. and the reason i get in it is cause i like to go places and just chill in the car.. i only spent 2 hours laying down on my backseat listening to music. i also have a pillow i can use :D

my remotes attached to a holder sitting just where ur hand sits when ur left arm leans on the armrest. Hand is on it everywhere i go basically.
*thread moved to car audio*
yeah mines constantly in my lap, when im just cruising i'd rather not reach over to my deck and hover my arm there, to skip through to tracks in a row when i can just sit and change by moving my index finger :) and as stated, level setting amps, very handy, and when sitting outside of car picnicing or whatnot its handy too.

I only use mine when I'm navigating a DVD menu... Other than that it never really comes in handy because I usually forget I actually have one.
