Is it possible to apply a product to stop this?
The top of the car and a small section has started on the boot, how much is it to fix this?
cheers

a car cover or a garage i guess.
tried cut n polish? frequent poliosh and wax coats the top paint layer allowing for extra protection so thats probly a start.
the whole boot and roof would have to be resprayed so itd be fairly exy

Same thing happened with mine. No chance you can fix it. It'll just appear again.
What's happened is the clear coat is gone and the sun is drilling your paint.
Half of my car is getting resprayed because the previous owners left it in the sun all the time and the clear coat died and it was game over from there.
After you get it fixed, on hot days, leave the windows a tiny bit open if you're not parking in a shade so the heat doesn't build up inside and kill the paint work from underneath (learnt that from the bloke doing the respray)
Good luck with it :)

For half car respray i'm getting it done for $800 (which is really cheap being a two tone colour as well)
Boot, both rear quarter panels, rear bar is completely cracked and gone so that's getting done too and around 35% of the roof.
Visit some smash repairs and see what it'll cost you. Don't bother calling because they usually tell you to come in anyway.
Oh, and don't just go to one smash repair, after you get one quote tell them you'll compare some quotes. Sometimes they just go oh look mate i'll do it for $600 hehe :D

Hey man....if you're painting 35% of the roof and all that ****....you might as well paint the whole car.....otherwise its not gonna look 100% right....

Oh it'll be blended in nicely. Like it'll pretty much look the same, just the sections that got fixed will look a bit more glossy.
Whole car ohhh not now too expense i have other things to buy haha :D

Yeah same thing happened to me with the front bar. It's more *silver* than the normal silver on the sides of the car, which is a more *darker* silver.
But yeah, not much i can do now hehe
I would've got the whole car done black but i had to fork out for the new transmission :(
All good hehe

You can easily blend, if the painter is half good yuo can blend a half panel and clear the whole panel and even the best will not pick it.
How do you think the they paint a single door on a car, they blend out the ajoining panels and clear them as well thus if there is a minor paint difference it will not show

Ya, like madmagna said.. If the painter knows what hes doing he " should " be out to make it match.. Even if the front is 20 years old and the back is brand new..

Yep, I've had two cars over 10 years old that have had repainted body parts and the painter has blended superbly...

so the answer is respray? theres nothin you can do? no product or company that can bring it back?

I wasnt saying that you cant blend it....but i meant that it wouldnt be as nice as the original colour....
like my paint had faded to a really light silver...and almost looked brownish in some light....the original colour is a deeper darker silver....much nicer...
and i was saying if you're gonna have to blend about 70% of the car..might as well respray it and get the original colour.....
so to the OP...yeah....you're gonna have to respray the faded areas and look after your paint more cuz the fading will spread....i learned the hard way....

Nope...
$10 of cut and polish wont fix a paint job worth thousands...
Just gotta get it resprayed

If you are looking at a few panels ie roof and boot and rest are ok, repair those, if bonnet is gone as well then do whole car but be prepared, metallic and reds are group 3 and the paint alone will cost around 200 bucks let alone primer, filler, paper and of course labour. A straight car will cost approx $350.00 per panel!
