My sister was driving the TF the other night, just cruising in town at 60, and it just shuts down.. all interior lights, engine.. just left her rolling, however the headlights remained on and this was the only thing that worked on the car.
*Strange*. Anybody experienced this one b4? She stopped and let the car sit for a few minutes and then the engine started fine and the car hasn't played up since. Got a mechanic to check for fault codes and minor service it today and it only came up with one code saying the ignition switched off while car was moving, or something along those lines.

I had this issue in my TR, replaced alternator and problem went away.

possibly a faulty ignition barrel or earth/short somewhere.

I had the ECU burn out on my TR one night on a trip out to Richmond ... left me stranded for a good two hours while I wait for NRMA to tow me home... :)

I'm thinking it could have been a short somewhere yeah, or an ECU issue, but its been fine since. Mechanic just said as cars age they can "hiccup" from time to time, and that he couldnt find anything obvious. Hopefully it wont happen again. lol
