Hi, need someone with a bit of knowledge

I've got a TR 2.6 EFI that suddenly started stalling a few days ago when at idle. The revs drop to about 300/400. I was thinking it was probably the ISC motor so i replaced it. It didn't help when i put it in and turned ignition, but i revved the engine and hey presto all good... rpm about 1000. So then my brother took it to the shops about 5km away, started doing the same thing again as soon as he got there.

Im not sure what else could be the problem... ECU? or could it be on the other end of the ISC, whatever the step motor is turning? Any ideas??? Also should mention, theres a rapid clicking noise when i turn car to acc, and again when i turn off, for about 1second, its def coming from the isc unit.

Any info would be much appreciated!

hey sounds way like my TR

i got the ECU checked and it needed replacing mine was doing the same , now it drives in safe mode and they now think its the TCM so hey i dunno  .

The idling thing and the clicking are both what mine was doing . I think its a wear and tear thing mines just hit 200,000 kms

Ecu's and TCU's either work or don't.

This can be caused by the stepper failing, TPS failing, faulty temp sensor, ignition, injector etc. Get a real mechanic to check and you will save $$$ in the long run. If in Vic I am happy to have a look if you want (no did't check your profile before everyone states the obvious)

i had to go to mitsu to get TPS adjusted after fitting a new ISC cause it kept stalling still. try that, they might be able to help you out
