Yeah, you can turbo anything with the right kind of money. Typically for a 6 you're best off going with a Twin Turbo setup like Blackbeard. Alternatively you can go the less expensive path of a Remote Turbo that Magnatism did for around $4,000. Turbocharging can get quite expensive, as there is a fair bit to bugger around with, I think prices start at like $8,000? Not certain.

Please use the search feature, there are plenty of turbo threads out there already... *groan*

Apart from the sprintex guys, no one has really put decent power through an auto box - so not much is known about how much power they can handle before they go pop.

As far as I know - no one has successfully "strengthened" a magna auto box. If you were looking at going pretty hardcore with an auto - then R&D on getting the box built to handle the power would be a pretty expensive excersize in itself.

Dimi had a shift kit put on his auto box, but that blew up this month too... Apparently the auto boxes can handle 200hp tops, but that would be brand new and for short periods of time apparently. Forced induction is always going to put huge amounts of strain on stock parts, look for a manual conversion, properly strengthened internals and such...

Not necessarily

Problem is you have a 3.0L, which means there is no commercially availble SC kit, meaning you will need to go custom.

A Blow off Valve releases excess pressure in the inlet system when the throttle snaps shut. How much sound is produced depends on a number of things, including engine RPM, amount of throttle was applied before you back off, type of BOV etc. Despite my "plumb back" style BOV, my car is capable of making an audible BOV noise at less than 2000rpm but at the same time - I can drive around all day without it making a sound if I want.

Coming from someone who has supercharged the 4sp auto, be prepared to spend alot of money

it really depends on how much power you wanna get.

I've gone the Sprintex path and I still need a replacement ECU to get its full potential.

And if you turbo fit a dual BOV and a dose pipe and you'll fit right in with the VL crowd lol

You can turbo anything, even your lawnmower if you wanted to :P.
It all depends on how much cash you have to throw away (you won't get any of it back).
If you could do the labour yourself and knew people in the field, you could probably get away with a decent system under $10k, but by the sounds of things you don't :).

or if you like a turbo next to your fuel tank, your looking at 1/4 of the price. lol

As I have pointed out before.....the 3000gt/gtos in the US with the same gearbox as our 2nd gens have been handling more than 200hp for a very long time....

I believe its 220kW, as 200hp = ~150kW, so in theory anything TJ series 2 and after shoulda blown up by now.

at the moment i'm getting just shy of 194kw's in my auto TF (with ralliart motor) which is bordering on 170,xxxk's for car and just shy of 20,xxxk's for block and i do drive it hard. i havn't gone the forced induction path yet as alot of my NA work will need to be reversed and replaced, but with saying that i am gonna be goin the turbo path but i'm actually workin on development of a sequential turbo system so a more constant boost path
