Is it possible/legal to install any aftermarket wheel in a car with
drivers airbags as standard?
Reason I ask is that wheel is sexc and iv wanted one for ages but allways thought it was illegal/void insurance if you replace it
u can change it to another air bag wheel but u cant go from an airbag to no airbag

Ummm I don't think that its after market... it has the Mitsi logo on it, and the GTVi came with a wheel very similar to that from memory. So my bet is its a factory part but sourced from elsewhere as Mitsi are flaming ripoffs over here.
If this is the case cruise should fit straight on...
Can you confirm the above?
Cheers

OK, maybe I was a little harsh, that doesnt look bad at all when its actually installed in the car, so long as there is woodgrain etc in the car already.

they go cloudy really quickly, mine when i bought it at under 90,000km was already cloudy and its an auto knob, not like you'll touch the knob as much as u touch the manual knob, so i think whichever knob you buy after playin with it for a while it will start to go cloudy.
although maybe the old driver was like me and liked to keep one hand on his knob when driving.

how the hell did you get them to send that from overseas, the airbag is classed as dangerous/explosive goods and as such cant be sent by air,and most shipping companies want an arm and a leg to carry one.

you would be supprised waht can be sent by air, even things that cant be carried by road are fine to travel in a passanger jet
i think the reason is if the plane crashes, everyone is dead anyway and there is going to be a huge explosion so what the hell...
(ps i work at the airport, so i see the dg freight)

I love you car...
i must say i looked into the mitsubishi woodgrain shifter and the steering wheel, and mitsubishi had OUTRAGEOUS prices, so i gav it a miss, and in doin so i realised, that it wud hav been WAY too much woodgrain, since i hav the Xi and its already got the woodgrain inserts the shifter and wheel wudda been a little too much for me, but they still look nice, ill just stick to my leather shifter and wheel
