MY dad (electronics wizz, 37 years as a Telstra Techhy) cant find any issue with the fuses, wiring etc. Unless theres internal fuses, which he wouldnt have checked.

There would probably be a fuse on the back of the unit.try that one??

Yeap! Tried...couldnt find an issue
^^^
Yeah i meant the one on the back of the unit.
If the one in the car fuse box blew - obviously the unit wouldn't switch on.

it could b one of the connections btw the actual face and the unit itself. same thing happens to my headunit.

Yeah the little ribbon cables that connect the door and the unit - they pop out and cause this sort of trouble. So pull it, unscrew the faceplace mounts, check under there....

Yeh could be worn contacts between the face and the unit. Try pushing on the face with a little bit of force with the accessories on and see if that makes any difference.

there should be a reset button somewhere front or back
it will be a small hole you can get a match stick to push it
EDIT: i have the P6850-MP looking though the manual i found the reset switch
its behind the face lower right hand corner
hope it helps
