Hey guys

So i get bored s**tless this arvo, and i have some shiny silver sheeting and some double sided tape lying around, and i come up with the fully hectik uleh idea of eyelids!!, all up i think i spent $10 on materials for what must be the most ricey, and admittedly s**tty looking mod EVER!!

I just thought i would post it for everyone to laugh at, i will be removing it if i get flamzored heaps, if not i might see what the bogans at work think of it.

But for what i paid and time, it isnt too bad, i just think the magna "eyes" look sad and droopy, the harsh angular look ALA alfa 159 is hot, thats what i was going for. I think though if someone was serious, a fiberglass attachment to the bonnet running OVER the head light and into the Duck bill part would look phat....off to work to get some fibreglassing gear :P.

Dodgy phone quality piccies attached!

Yeah man good point. Thats where fiberlgassing could be useful. as for painting, i would think the mitsu standard metallic silver would be the way to go on fibreglass, but this is thin silver sheeting, attached with double sided tape.

Has anyone seen a parra equiped TJ with eyelids?? i think they would look awesome if done properly.

Well heres a photo at night, and i am pleasantly surprised, it looks pretty hot!!!

I am going to attempt to make some with fibreglass, and i think i will make it so they attach to the bonnet, then come over the light, or maybeattach em to the light then have them extend so as to close the gap between bonnet and light, thats what is sorta ruining the look at the momet.

But thanks for the feed back people

Is there any reason for doing this? How about eyelids on your side mirrors, or tail lights aswell?

basially something to fill in your day with...Its easy, and if you've never done fibreglassing before it'll be a great project to get you started, also, you can tell everyone that YOU made them, not purcashed them off a shelf.

eyelids look alright on some cars, some cars, no

Surely they would be non ADR and block headlights though?

I'm thinking of doing something similar to my headlight protectors. Although i'd make mine come down further and wider.

Funny you should mention that, i did a lil experiment to test this out, ADR wise the way i did it, its a coating of film, so i dont see that as a safety issue, as for blocking of light, the parras have fractionating grooves in them to scatter the light produced, then theres clear sections for direct light to pass through.

if the "eyelid"/interference is on the outer edges then the light path is not blocked, and also the way the light refracts from the lens, the only thing is upwards projecting light would only be blocked, if any at all. Hence the "useful" light that projects on to the road is not effected :).

PS seeing the car at night, front on with lights on = definately worth it, it looks mean as!! all i gotta do is what ashneel said,is paint them and maybe make them blend more with the exsisting lines, that would be cool!

Cheers Shibbs
