Hi guys...

took a load of friends to teh coast today. Was 5 of us in the magna. On the way home i noticed that when I went over bumps there was a really loud banging/crunching noise coming from the back as if it was bottoming out or something. I also heard it when I took of from a standstill really quickly. Also, when we got back to brisbane, the back of the car seemed to be sitting lower than it normally does - although I may be jsut imagining this lol.

I have a 2003 TJ, does this sound like a suspension problem? is there any known problems with this model? It still has stock springs and has done 70,000 kms

Thanks,

Matt

The first thing to do is to stick your head under the rear of the car, and see if anything is loose or obviously out of place.

Cheers,
Martin.

possibly a broken or bent shock . spring or rubber bush

dont drive it too far before getting it looked at

I'm going to go ahead and assume it's a sedan.

70,000kms, shouldnt be any problems with the springs, problem might lay with the shocker being worn, or the extra weight might have put pressure down on the bump stop, this pressure might have caused whats left of the bump stop to disintegrate.

Take it apart and see what's wrong, easy. :)

Hah yeah easy lol...

Well I'm thinking I might get it lowered soon so would this fix any problems I have? Also, is there any problems carrying a full load of people in the car when it is lowered?

if you lower it, do the shocks as well. A friend of mine who has a VL makes us get out when she goes over speed bumps, its that bad.
It wouldn't get rid of crunch, but it would minimize it i would think.
