its... BOSS!?!?!?! pioneer is a better choice out of many brands, im guessing out of these 2 as well, keep the pioneer and if you really have to you may use that amp for the sub.. just my opinion

maybe your sub isnt mounted in the right enclosure being powered by the wrong amp, everything from box size, wiring, amp and amp setting will affect what the sub will sound like. if all else fails maybe just get a better quality sub with higher RMS
edit: if you are running 2 subs you do realise you require a monoblock yeah?

noooooooo!!!! dont do it
if your going to get a new amp atleast buy something decent
alpine amps are pretty cheap for there V12 series
well worth there money
or maybe get a response monoblcok for your subs
1st: American Boss is NOT Boss Audio
2nd: American Boss IS however, still complete crap, and a rip off of American Bass
3rd: Even the true brand Boss Audio, sold in American, isnt that great, however apparently better than Boss sold here.
if you want to upgrade, do it properly, i'd recommend buying 2nd hand, get great deals compared to that filth for the same price :)

notice most of the power figures are MAX values :bowrofl:
i bet you i could get a lot louder with Rampage's bottom range sub, vs say MTX's mid range sub :)

Neither brands mentioned here are by far, a Ferarri of car audio. You suck.
Pioneer are better than BOSS. I had a 4 channel BOSS amp that actually went really hard, i got complements from other QLD members on my SQ and I won an SPL run with it. I had chan's 3&4 bridged to run my 10W3DV2D2 and 1&2 running my MB 6.5" splits with the HU running the 6x9's. I beat dual 12" systems worth more than mine.
Could not fault this amp, a mate had an earlier version of the same thing 4X100RMS and it goes hard too behind some Pioneer pro speakers (The over-expensive yellow ones). No problems there either, apart from some alternator-wine, but blame the installer for that, mine didn't have any interference noise ;) even with 1-2 splitters because my cheap pioneer HU only had L/R out @ 2.2v.

Some of you need to read the first thread again, he's talking about american boss.
I've never actually tried them, but almost bought a pair of 12's because there was a guy on ebay selling them cheap. They look good and on paper they do sound alright.
Woob is right, while American boss is "better" than australian boss, i'm not sure how it would rate again pioneer gear. Probably on par with their blue series.
huh? woah dont go pulling me into this, i never said American Boss is better than Boss Audio in any regards. I did however say that the genuine brand, Boss Audio, sold in the US, is better than the poo in Strathies to an extent

I'm offended that you put pioneer in the same category as ferrari :P
It's more like from a Hyundi Sonata to a Kia Rio :P

I have those speakers! They are running off them head unit... for now. Until next week when I buy a monoblock amp and another sub, and my current amp will then be delegated to powering 6x9's.
Anywho, I dont know anything about any BOSS brands, except for the BOSS kit for an XR8.
And, a Hyundai Sonata and a Kio Rio both suck. I'm not a fan of box cars.
whats why the compared it to pioneer :P but really Pioneer is like Holden..
they give you the Barina, a rebadge of a Daewoo, the 306C's and 5950 head units,
They give you the Caprice in all its luxury, the P9 combo and 5102SPL
They give you the R8 Maloo, angry and powerful, the 8102SPL
