Hey Guys,
Been watching this forum for months now and have finally got permission from the misses to start modding the car...just wondering what you guys think of the following sets of wheels on a gold"champagne" coloured magna? Looking around the $1500 mark......17/18's?

Go with 18's, they look better... Go the black and silver 'moto' rims :) (which I have just noticed only come in 17"... blast)

I'm guessing you have a 3rd gen?
If I was you i'd get 18's, good balance between cost and practicality. I have 17's on my TJII, which looked good on my old TR, but i think are just a little too small for a 3rd gen.
I'm hoping to upgrade to 18's in the near future. Because you're prepared to pay the $1500 upfront now, get what you want now, instead of buying something cheaper and then paying even more to upgrade later.

- Just a quick note regarding the image i quoted, which tyre shop is that at?

Actually to be honest those lightning rims for $159ea in 18's would look nice on a champaigne magna.
Otherwise the cobalts or the sabres, but these would be my personal choice, you may prefer chrome or the black on silver look :).

yeah man you will regret getting anything less that 18's.

go the XHP Sabers in gunmetal i reckon:D

Anything with a bit of "dish" will always look better IMO

I have 18' chrome XHP Sabres on my AU xr8 and they look great. Been on for nearly 3 years and no problems with the chrome tarnishing/discolouring, etc.

I have seen some on T series magnas and they seem to suit them as well.

Go the 18's the difference in price is negligible. My XR rides better on them than it did on the standard 16's.

It took me about 3 months to decide what wheels to put on my car, some cars look good with chrome some don't, that's your call m8. I was fortunate enough to have some experience with photoshop so I was able to view every wheel on my car before I bought them. If your not photoshop savy then you can always go into the wheel shop and some will take a photo of your car and then show you what each wheel will look like on your car. There are also sites where you can do this over the net, Bobjane is one and also Lenso is a good one too that site also lets you see what the car would look like lowered.

Me I'd recommend go for 18". 19" was a lil too big for my liking and I've heard a couple of peeps on this site talk about 19" rims cracking when hitting bumps/ditches in the road becuase there wasn't enough tread on the 19's to protect them. Also you'll most likely want to lower your car once you have the wheels on, so I'd make an allowance for that.

You'll pay more than the catalogue price to get the 18s on a magna as the standard "budget" tyres they provide won't have a high enough load rating.. (they never do). Make sure you ask them what the LR is on the tyres they're quoting.
