Following this post

here's my list of good value-for money mods that are worth doing for you:

handling:

-Whiteline adjustable 22mm rear swaybar
-Whiteline front strutbrace
-Whiteline anti-lift/castor kit
-King Lows springs
-KYB Excel-G shocks, or Koni reds as used in the ralliarts if you can afford to spend some more
-17-18" rims so you can use lower profile tyres. 19-20"s are too heavy and expensive. Maybe some stock 17" TJII vrx rims, or 17" ralliart rims for convenience/cheapness.
- Front brake upgrade off the awd/ralliart magnas.

Performance

- Homemade CAI..the cheapest 5-6kw atw you'll ever gain.
- better intake manifold. EZboy is likely to be selling them soon, RPW also does them too if that doesn't work out.
-Barrys grounding kit. Probably not much of a gain in the top-end, but very noticeabl down low for daily driving.
-K&n panel. Not convinced you really gain any peak power, but power seems to drop off less as you rev beyond peak power, which is nice.
-Pacemaker or RPW extractors. Starts getting pricy here for the gains, but some seem to think it makes a big difference in torque and revvability, not so much for peak power.
- 3" metal-cat. Been advised by EZboy to do this, apparently is worthwhile.
- 2.5" exhaust piping. Debatable..some seem to think it makes a big difference, others reckon the stock sysem flows fine. I lean towards the latter. The biggest gain in exhaust for magnas is a higher-flowing muffler, not needed in your case since the sports/vrx mufflers already flow nice.

With the performance mods, alot of them are supporting mods if you wanto chase more power, rather than doing all that much by themselves.

After this is gets very expensive..cams/piggback ECU. After that either a n/a rebuild with better internals and headwork, or forced induction.

Give us an idea of how much you are looking to spend, and maybe we can advise you on what mods are worth doing the most.

Personally I take my car to the track, so handling/brakes/semi-slicks come first. Now I'm finally at the stage where I wanto start chasing more power, and might actually be able to put it down on the track. Still not done with my suspension thou, anti-lift kit going in soon, and coilovers eventually.

IMO get your handling/suspension sorted first..nice handling is so much more rewarding than a bit of extra power, which you can't really enjoy with boat-like handling anyway.
Can someone be an absolute champion and put something like this together for us... For car modifications/upgrades

Yes, yes they can.. I'm happy to host it (http://www.wermspowke.net/wiki/) if we can all decide on just what are the best mods to buy for $xx.

Ok here's what we got so far:

What are the best mods for my budget?
A =very= commonly asked question, this one, and it's a question that probably needs to be broken down into two categories - power, and handling. Take care though, to decide early on what your final goal is - do you want to go for forced induction (turbo, or super charger), or stay naturally aspirated? If you want to go the turbo route, don't bother with extractors as you'll just have to throw them away later. If you go forced induction at all, be careful when choosing after-market cams as a cam profile for a FI car is very different to a profile for an NA car.

[edit]Power
[edit]up $500
Intake: [Cold Air Induction], [Air Filter] Exhaust: Straight-through rear muffler

[edit]$1000

Save another $1500 and consider a super charger

[edit]$10000
With $10000 in the bank the world is your oyster. If you've saved this much money you probably know already whether you want a big single, or twin turbos, super charger, or a hot cam'd NA beast. Go wild.

Bored now.. can people who care consider what's there (http://www.wermspowke.net/wiki/index.php/Main_Page#What_are_the_best_mods_for_my_budget.3F) and suggest changes. That'd be great. Thanks.

Wait for someone who has modified their car to sell it.

That's the cheapest option. With the resale value of modified cars, particularly Mitsu, why do we bother spending any money on them at all.

People modify their cars to make them individual, and most people who sell these cars will seperate the parts out first and sell them second hand as it always results in more $$ at the end of the day.

Anyway back on topic...

I already through that was a on the wiki.....it was suggested a while ago neways....but good thats its happened none the less.

Is there a way links can be put up above the forums, outside of stickies, so that its obvious to all the noobs?

No doubt there will be a million and one noob threads asking the same question, but the difference being ppl will reply with the link instead of answers :)
