I received today my muffler from an ebay seller for $77.00 , the inlet pipe is 3", it is different from what was advertised as 2 1/2". My question is, is it ok to have it install and use a reducer pipe to make it fit? And what are the possible implications if I fit it. Otherwise, I will return it to the seller(it's a good product though).

you can fit it no worries, but it will proably be louder and a couple of $$ dearer to fit and not be as neat install...

Yeah i say return it.. it will just cost you more for the install and be louder.. all bad things.
