Hola Niņos y Niņas,

I need help deciding between 2 Magnas.

On one hand is the cheaper (14k) 2001 TJ Sports (sienna red) thats done 112,545kms

On the other is the more expensive (20k) 2003 TL VR in white thats done 46,147

I like the idea of a newer car but the price difference is difficult to overlook, plus i can just get a bodykit and nice exhaust on the TJ

HELP PLEASE!

Benj

An 03 VR should not cost 20K. It depends if you want to mod the car (as we all do), and if thats the case buy a TJ VRX for around 14k.

is the sports auto or manual????? if it is an auto like mine you might be paying a little too much, but a great car:cool: and def. nicer colour than white. I paid 15k for mine over two years ago and it had 60000km on the clock then. p.s....you will gain very little in performance from a muffler change. decide which front end you like better(may help decision)

The TL will probably be a bit quicker. I'd get the TL, but not for that money. You can get a Ralliart for that money.

I bought a 2004 TL VR semi-auto with 75,000 on it for $12.5K 2 months ago. There are loads of sellers, but not too many buyers. I think you should be able to name your own price.

by the least value car u want, so you dont get as pissed off when u go and sell it and never see that extra money again.

the more u spend the more u'll lose.

id say the TL would be slower cause it has extra stuff like a power drivers seat, side airbags, etc.

do u care between auto or manual?

personally i dont like the fronts on TL's/TW's, but each to their own. white tho, aint the best car if u want to mod it.

imo, look for:
TJ VRX
TJ Sports
KJ Verada
TJ Ralliart

(Auto or Manual for all cept rada, and doesnt matter between S1 and S2)

and theres lots of magnas in WA, look up:
www.carsales.com.au
www.autotrader.com.au
www.carsguide.com.au
www.quokka.com.au

that should cover everything, need any more advice, just ask here or in the WA section :)

For 14k I would go the TJ VRX, already has a body kit and half decent mags...
I think 14k is a bit much for the TJ Sports.

few days ago a TJ2 sports sold for 12K at a dealership, had some similar sort of mileage, so thats the kind of price you want to be looking out for. 14k will get you a TJ VRX easy, manual OR auto

When I was looking I was tossing up between the VRX and the Rada. I ended up finding an 03 GTVI which I found had a bit of both, Rada Luxuries with VRX Power but that cost me $20G's with 38000km.

You should find a nice TJ VRX for under 17K easy, some peeps here have paid a lot less. I'm not a fan of the new fronts of the TL onwards either and I'm also not a fan of spoilers, especially those on the ralliart but I wouldn't mind one of their 180kw motors. The VRX is a really nice ride it would be the only car with a spoiler that I like, if not for the GTVi I would own a VRX Manual.

Dunno if you like Ralliarts or not, and your profile says you're in WA, BUT - Have a look here...

If you like manuals...

Manual Ralliart (http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars/private/MITSUBISHI/RALLIART_MAGNA/details.aspx?Model=RALLIART%20MAGNA&__Nne=20&__N=4294964597+0+4294961424+834+285+257&Make=MITSUBISHI&State=All%20States&silo=1003&state_id=0&distance=25&Cr=1&seot=0&__sid=1114FA763B00&R=1043800&__Ns=pCar_PrivateSpecialFlag_Int32|1||pCar_ImageCo unt_Int32|1||pCar_LastModifiedDate_DateTime|1&trecs=9)

Maybe you could look at shipping costs? Seems like a good buy

Or if you prefer an auto...

Auto Ralliart (http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars/private/MITSUBISHI/RALLIART_MAGNA/details.aspx?Model=RALLIART%20MAGNA&__Nne=20&__N=4294964597+0+4294961424+834+285+257&Make=MITSUBISHI&State=All%20States&silo=1003&state_id=0&distance=25&Cr=4&seot=0&__sid=1114FA763B00&R=386267&__Ns=pCar_PrivateSpecialFlag_Int32|1||pCar_ImageCo unt_Int32|1||pCar_LastModifiedDate_DateTime|1&trecs=9)

oh and what are shipping costs like? i dont even no where to check.

the only thing that puts me off interstate buying is not being able to inspect the vehicle/ test drive

melbourne to perth is about $1400 with tnt

so my guess would be sydney/brisbane, 1500, adelaide/darwin 1000

i was goin to get a car from perth before and checked it out, car was 1600kg, i dnt know how they wrk it out exactly but those should be taken as a guide, only worth it if you find a extremely cheap one that you want.

you can get a company, forgot what there called now, pm me if interest n i'll find out, its about $300-400 for a full inspection and detailed report. cheaper option available but it will be less informative.

remember you have to re-register it aswell...

to much hassles if you ask me and in most cases not finacially worth it.

good luck!

TJII Manual VRX FTW!
