Over the last couple of days, my car has started to clunk when i steer to the left or brake. I suspect it is the CV joints, but i cant be sure. I check the body, brakes etc but everything in that respect is fine. Any ideas. Feedback would be much appreciated

sounds like it could be a cv. take a look at the inner and outter cv boots. steer your car to the right and look on the left side, might make it easier. see if the boot is rip or anything

i had a similar symptom, turned out to be loose wheel nuts! check them first!

could be a broken engine mount, when I did mine on and off the clutch there was a clunking noise.

Hi, did you find out what was the problem? My car has started to do a similar thing. Only on left turns (and not always) and sometimes when braking. It's like something hits the floor under the passenger foot-well.
I took it to a mechanic and they checked suspension, CV's, wheel nuts and steering and could find nothing. I took it to a panel-beater who said that it could have been a crack in the front chassis rail, but all looked ok to him.
It doesn't seem to affect anything just this un-nerving clunk that sounds like something is shifting. It only started happening since the weekend.
