Today I went to check out a set of 16" ROH Adrenalins a guy was selling 'cause he got 'em for his commodore, only to find they didn't fit it. After calling ROH, he was told they were 114.3, so I rocked up expecting them to fit but not sure of offset (they were 40P), only to find they didn't fit my 2nd gen, which as far as I have read definitely has 114.3 PCD?? I can't remember exactly, but I think my studs were wider spaced than the holes.

Anyway, question being, if they don't fit a commodore, and don't fit a magna which supposedly has 114.3 PCD, then what the hell do they fit? Apparently he has had heaps of trouble selling them, as no-one who has come to check them out has been able to get them to fit!

I was rather disappointed, would have looked very nice on my car, and would have been a relative bargain. But no matter how I tried, they definitely didn't fit. (On a side note, just found out as I was putting on my stock KR Verada alloy that they are in fact ROH's as well:) )

Most subaru's are 5 x 100. Would explain why your studs are slightly wider?

Hmm, he said something about Suburus, but the brief search I did said they were also 114.3. 100 would probably explain it, which means ROH gave him the wrong figure.

Yeh if it's not 5x 114.3 or 5x120, it'll be 5x100.
2nd and 3rd gen magnas are 5x114.3

plus 5x110 for some euro cars like astras, vectras, calibras, audis

5x108 for jags :(

Nah, Commos are 5x120 along with most euro cars. Falcons had always been 5x114.3. Its
only their offsets that changed from AU on wards.

Also subies may have 5x100 but the 40P is way too low for them. They usually have high
40's if not low 50's offset.

there is also 5 x 4" lol try getting off the shelf rims for that :doubt:

plus many more sizes

but most common are 5 x 114.3 5 x 120 and 5 x 100

whatever they are it would be stamped on the inside of the rim.

Couldn't find anything that indicated PCD. Offset was there as "40P", but didn't see any PCD markings. He apparently had called ROH with the serial number, and they had told him, erronously from the looks of it, that it had 114.3 PCD.

Markings he sent me were "n208" "340a" "40p" "11u"

Anyway, whatever it is, the bastards didn't fit, so I was just checking I had my figures correct.

Here's a quick list... (5 stud PCD's that I have found)

5 X 98
5 X 100
5 X 110
5 X 112
5 X 114.3
5 X 120

I thought 5x4" would have been the same as 5x 100?

No, 4" = 101.6004mm but people generally say 4" equals 100mm as it is close enough. Just
like in hardwares, some bolts and nuts are imperial and some are metric, try fitting a metric
nut onto an imperial bolt is impossible even if there is only a slight bit of difference. The
5x4" PCD are the old imperial spec PCDs. I have a friend with an old jag that uses imperial
PCD and he cannot get any after market alloys in OZ.

To find out the PCD of a 5 stud wheel, measure the distance between the centres of 2
adjacent holes and then multiply it by 1.7012

But couldn't you fit a 5x100 rim to a PCD bolt pattern of 5x4"? I couldn't imagine 1mm causing too much grief?

No you can't as the nuts have a tight fit, especially if they have bevelled mounting face.
As the wheel with 100mm PCD is 1.6mm smaller in diameter, either the nuts will be scrubing
the stud holes or you can't use a socket wrench to tighten it.
