Hi, I'v got two amps to hook up. 1x 560w(220rms) 4 channel to run 4 speakers and 1x 1200W(400rms) mono block to run a 1000w(400rms) sub.
I have a 4g wire from battery to distribution block in boot,Q1 can I run 8g from dist block to the amps. Q2If 8g to the amps is ok, can the amp earths be 4g or should they be 8g

4ga from the battery to a distrobusion block
then 2 8ga wires to each amp will be fine
short 4ga grounds are recommended

What are the fuses on each of the amps? ie 2 x 40 amp fuses?
This will determine the total possible current draw and hence your choice of wire suitable for the job. 8 gauge to the amps sounds a little small for my liking.
8ga over ~30cm will be fine, unless ithe amps are Class A :P

4 channel has 2x 25 amp fuses
mono block has 2x 30 amp fuses

Wire Gauge - Fuse Size
2/0 gauge - 430 amps
0 gauge - 345 amps
1 gauge - 265 amps
2 gauge - 215 amps
4 gauge - 135 amps
6 gauge - 80 amps
8 gauge - 55 amps
10 gauge - 30 amps
12 gauge - 20 amps
14 gauge - 15 amps
16 gauge - 7.5 amps
Nope current draw is too big, I'd go 4 gauge all over to get the best out of your amps.
The smaller amp is just within the threashold but still, may as well do the lot and be done with it. 4 guage into distro, 2 x 4 guage out of distro and short 4 gauge grounds.
Peace
Tim
