Hi all
I have a 2003 TJ Advance with 195000 on it.
I was wondering how many more k's do you guys reckon I can put on it before it starts getting expensive to repair, ie engine rebuild, tranny rebuild etc.
It gets a logbook service every 15000 on the dot, and I do about 90000k a year (for almost the last 2 years), with about 95% of that on the highway, sitting at 2000rpm on cruise.
It still drives like new, and haven't had any repairs at all to deal with apart from normal wear and tear
So, how much longer do you's all think it will last?

Change the Oil every 5000km, service the tranny every 40,000 or so, make sure belts/plugs/coolant are changed when they need to be and youll be fine for another 200,000 mate.
Theres blokes on here who have over 300,000 on their engines AND that includes one member blasting an unholy amount of NOS thru the engine.

Only talking from what I'v herd from others, people have gone uo 300k without many major repairs. I supose it comes down to how you treat the car and the amount of preventative maintenance you put in, sounds like you look after your car. I'd expect less problems from a car driven on country trips.

Thanks for the quick replys!!!
I work in Brisbane, and live near Toowoomba, so commute a lot, plus my job takes me to most places in SE Qld. I pretty much fill my tank every day and a half, which is one of the reasons I love the Magna, cos I can get about 850km to a tank. You'd be doing well to get that out of a Dunny-dore or Falcon

Wow 90k kms a year!
As long as you look after her she'll keep going for quite awhile yet. Oil changes every 5000kms is overkill for a car that does mostly highway kms. Stick to your normal 15k kms interval and you should be right.
Just a testimony to magna engines... i have a TS that has done just off 400k klms and has never had a spanner put to it :D and it has been Punnished Zen Style.
