Hey Guys,
With In Car neons, say i wanted 1 under each seat, one for pedals, one for passenger feet and 2 in the boot, are there any issues with runing them all off the same battery, especially with a decent sound system???
And then if i decide to get a full undercar system, what then???

neons run of 12v and so many things run of 12v in ya car so its not worries i had them in my car for 5months and every night whiling coming back from work would have them on and did nothing to the battery but cos you got a sound system make sure you have a heavy duty battery anyway

just dont run them with your car off :D

Neons LED's draw such LITTLE current you could leave them on for 10 hours without having your car on and your car will still start. Im just trying to think of all the extra accessorys i have hooked up and the car feels the same
Coller/warmer
6+ LED sticks
2 gauges
2 amps
TV + Cd player
Extra roof lighting
etc etc besides the amplifiers they all draw nothing from the battery

run a relay to power all the lights in the car, as my neons were not very bright, just use a relay and the interior light to activate the relay, as for out side
this is what i did
what i did was set up a normally closed relay to the ignition system so when the car is parked the relay is closed and the neons flash when i unlock it
but when i turn the engine on the relay opens and the neons DONT flash to the blinkers or hazards
i also made a bypass switch so i can turn them on when you rock up somewhere. i just founded a black flat flush rocking switch on top of the steering coloum looks like it is stock. oh and i had to ad a diode to the circuit so when i turned them on with the switch it didnt turn on the indicatiors too.
the neons flash to the hazards when the key is out but dont when the key is in.so if i ever need to use the hazards if i have a break down or accident just leave the ignition on, but i could put in a cutout switch if i wanted to.
i got the positive for the neon power from the controller reciever unit where there is a 20 or so pin plug, and got myself in a very awquid position with my head in the drivers foot well and closed the doors and using a testing probe stuck the probe in the back of the plug of every pin and locked and unlocked the car for every hole untill i found the pin that made my probe flash to the indicators, i then tapped into that lead.
(stock remote central locking with no alarm)
this is not hard just takes a little time, and know what you are doing. i might draw up a wiring diagram and instructions if any 1 needs it, ill try and remember exactly how i did it was it was a few months ago, i got my parts from jarcar electronics this is really cheap mod to do and the most expensive part is the neons themselvs
i also have neons in the foot wells of my car for front and back seats, that light up when the door opens they are hidden so you would never know the neons where there untill they turn on.

they dont take much power at all, i have 2 under the dash and 2 under the front seats and i run a massive stereo. just make sure you mount them out of direct line of sight because they are damn bright to look striaght at at night. mine are just hooked up to one of those 4 in 1 lighter plug thingos that you get from supercheap.

I had two 8" ones in my old car in the footwells and the only time it drained the battery was after i left them on over night, which was more like 15 or so hours.
