ok i have been looking around a little bit and havent got the right answers, ( i also made a search on the forums and didnt find anything, if this is a remake please tell me dont FLAME!)
Anyway. Basically its all ideas but i was wondering how much time/money/materials it will take to convert a TE from auto > manual. I have seen most requirements in the engine etc. and i know what to do, but if anyone knows how much the clutch pedal/gear stick and all that would cost..
I don't need explanations on what to do, just if anyone knows any basic round numbers on how much it will cost to complete 100% and if there is any knowns problems with converting this model (1997).
Cheers.

you did not search hard enough dude.
theres heaps of thread on manual conversions but to answer your question it will cost you anywhere betweet $1000-$3000
easiest thing to do is ger a wrecked manual magna and swap parts from that to your car

Anyway cheers for that, so basically your looking at a few thousand..
Im just trying to decide weather to hold onto my Automatic wagon and spend some money or sell/re-buy and then spend money. The only problem is im not sure if i want an automatic.

well if your auto is fine, you like what you got now but would prefer manual why not just wait and shop around for a really cheap wreck. might be lucky and pick one up for $1500 or so and then just transfer the parts over
or send clarion magna a PM. im pretty sure he has a full manual conversion ready for a car sitting with him.

Ok. I converted about 4 months ago, so here is my list.
Manual Convertion kit (everything that is required is included) ~$1600
New xeddy heavy duty clutch ~$500 - $600
Labour ~ $1000 i think.
I know the total cost was $3200 drive in drive out.
If you want details on the place where i got the kit from, let me know. They are near the gold coast in qld.
There should be no problems. The gearboxes are pretty much the same from TE to TL. Well, they all fit. I think the TH and higher have a slight different gear ratio.
But yeah, make sure the mechanics change the drive train. As the auto one is a few mm too long.

Well the thing is basically i have 2 options.
Im 17 years old and obviously not that well on cash. I picked the car up really cheap for $4500- (very very desperate to sell) its a TE wagon and i love it. I don't like the auto because i enjoy driving manuals ALOT more and also the fuel factor.
I can either keep what i have and spend some money or sell (i think i could get a fair bit.. 140,00kms very good condition) and fix up another car (manual). Although i don't think i could find a car as good as mine in a wagon, same model manual haha. Im still deciding, this is why im seeing if i can do a cheap conversion. I supose we will see towards the end of the year, the way my job goes.
At the moment all my mates want me to make the one i have now look good. they all reckon its wickid and i love it as well. This might be my option for a few years. And i can always steal the system and even body parts few years down the track if i decide to rebuy a magna.
