Yeah sorry im cluttering up the forum with "help me" threads lately lol

I have noticed a really odd kind of burning smell at random times. I suspect that the radiator fan is starting to die out. Any one know how to just turn it on to see if thats whats making the smell ?

Unplug the plug going to the fan.
Connect a couple of wires to the plug.
Run 1 to Positive on the batt and the other to negative.
If it spins backwards reverse the 2 wires.
Sniff thoroughly :)

lol Well its not the fans thats causing the smell. I dont know what the hell it is. I can smell it heaps outside of the car too its a really strong deep wood kind of smell

Its doesnt seem to be coming from the engine bay either.

Gregory's manual mentions disconnecting the temperature sensor unit near the thermostat housing. Do this with the engine cold and running, both fans should operate. Only do it for short time as it can activate the check engine light.
I have a problem with my radiator cooling fan not coming on, but it operates fine when I disconnect the sensor, so not sure what the problem is.

Coolant getting onto the exhaust can smell like that. Worth a check. There is a temp sensor in the bottom of the radiator, pull that off and short the pins with a paper clip, fans should kick in if the ignition is on.

doesn't the fans normally come on when the air con is put on? (providing you have it).
