hey guys, im wondering if anyone knows of any good security systems for a TH Magna Sports 1999, or is the standard alarm system good enough. i herd there are alrarm systems, so that you have to enter a code before starting the engine or it wont work, does anyone know prices and where i can get one?

these are as fitted to wrx's... brant designed the original system for the wrx's.. this is the new version, very nice system.. this isnt actually an alarm, its an immobiliser.. there $495.. ring brant, they will come to you

You can get a keypad system from either DSE or Jaycar, cant remember which one. Its a kit which you have to build and instal yourself but tis not hard if u have a lil electronic know how and know how to use a soldering iron.

why just have a keypad immobiliser? is it to show off? my alarm has alss breakage sensors, tilt sensors, shocks sensors etc etc. urs will just stop them starting the car...meanwhile theyve got ur stereo, ur rims, and ur air freshener :bowrofl:

may save u some cash, so why just get an immobiliser on a modified car?

mine was under $500 all up. got the category 3 premier 'Custodian' alarm system from identimark - $299, extra $55 to hook it up to my central locking, free installation, and tilt sensor was like $65 or something.

alarm system provides full shock sensor/glass breakage sensor, has error chirps to tell u if a door is open etc, has codes u can read to determine if the alarm went off or watever (light just flashes differently i think), battery backup, all black wiring etc etc

and free mobile installation :)

Cyclops upgrade alarm S485. Uses your factory remote, hooks up to all factory sensors plus has glass break sensor included. with the option or additional sensors, shock, ultrasonic, tilt. just to name a few.

Mines been fitted for about a year. i just fitted Phils and mikeys this week.

If your interested let me know and we'll work something out

well the Custodian works out to $354 if just the base system, no tilt sensor... with mobile fitting, 2 new remotes

> *Remote control with inbuilt transponder (2)
> Automatic immobiliser disarm with ignition on, random encrypted code
> Silent mode/panic mode
> *Diagnostics & error chirps
> *Ultra blue LED
> Dual immobilisation/auto arming
> PIN code over-ride
> Protects all entry points (via existing switches)
> Audible siren chirps/visible flashing indicators for arm and disarm status
> Flashing LED
> Glass break sensor
> High security casing

or u may prefer one of the cheaper ones. have a look here:

but yeah, Custodian one is cheaper and they can fit it at ur work if its easier

which one is more reliable!!!!!!!!!!!

well whole family has identimark alarm systems, and no worries, and i'm sure dave (hlucn8) will say the same...and both come with warranties. most alarm systems never really fail anyway, so that shouldnt be an issue.

Hey everyone,,

Isntead of starting a new thread, ive decided to put a new one in here. Just wanting to know, I live in the dirt part of Melbourne, where alotta stuff gets stolen off cars at train stations, shopping centres etc. I'm scared that when I do start fixing it up with my interior and all that it's going to turn the wrong heads, you know. A lil help would be excellent from anyone. Price range is about the same; $400-$500. I am looking for one with tilt sensors also.

fanx,
-ian
