How much for a standard one - anyone know? Also how much are the high flow ones at standard pipe diameter and where do you get those?

I'm also looking into this at the moment because the standard cat on my car is stuffed.
I had a quote of $210 for a generic high flow or $355 for a stock replacement  . Doesn't take a genious to work out which one i'm planning on going with :).

was the generic a bolt up replacement? I'd be wanting something that bolted straight in - no welding required.

Hmmm sorry not sure if it's bolt up or welded on, i'll have to check, i'd probably say for that price it would be welded, and you're looking at about $50 extra for a bolt on.

what they did to mine was cut of the flange and weld it on the new cat so it can unbolt it off.

most after market hi flow cats will have to be welded on at least one end at the chepaer end of the range(ebay) but more expensive for bolt on. You may have to measure your cat length and have a flange welded on before you fit it yourself???? i noticed tho after market cats are alot shorter than the factory ones.

That was going through the exhaust place, so i'm guessing that was trade price from mits. Or non-genuine.

There'd be more of a need to put them on the sheep in NZ I should think... given the numbers and the tons of exhaust gas they'd produce!

If you need one, I have one in the garage, travelled 35k. Replaced when I did my full exhaust.

I remember reading that Australia has more sheep per capita than NZ.

Might be a plan... at least I'd have an off-car spare to rob the fittings off for an after market one - can you PM me your price?

Replaced mine with Magna (3 L TE) stock cat from Mitsu, bolt-on obviously. Cost ~180 bux, cuppla years ago. Get ready with new (stainless) bolts as well.... (rusty, stuck, busted etc)

Yeah, when I got my exhaust fixed, the cat was replaced with a $5 piece of pipe.

If NZ isn't careful they might end up looking like Mordor.
If you don't get it, find out where Lord of the Rings was filmed.
isnt there like a $10k fine if EPA catcha without a cat converter in aus?
