First up i have used the "search" feature many times but i cant find the info im after!!
ok, im currently rebuilting my motor, (3.5l) but like every one else im goin to tweak it a little,
- the bottom end is getting all new bearing, balanced, honed, new rings, etc.....im looking at upgrading the pistons to the ACL 'DOHC" pistons out of a pajero, what year pajero was DOHC, also is there any machining involed, e.g are the pistons a different bore and stoke ? or do they fit perfectly? do they bolt up to the factory conrod?
- the heads are goin to be fitted with a Stage 2 camshaft or near those specs, RPW valve springs and cam gears, decked, ported polished and bench flowed, how much heavier/stronger are there valve springs than standard? in % Wise,....
- when im getting the heads decked how much shall i remove (in thou) with those mods e.g 0.50 thou?? from the heads alone i will be running the car on 98octane once its running again
- will the ACL head gaskets be stronge enough to with stand thise compression
-exhaust wise, has anyone got pics of "pacemakers" i wanna see the design first, no exhaust shop has pictures, also the inner diameter of the exhaust pipe so i can match the exh port,

all the info will be good in shortest amount of time as im dropping the engine off the my mates engine shop wenesday, i will keep all of you updated as the progess happens

If you need any new crank/rods/rings/pistons give me a pm, have a set in the garage. Otherwise good luck with the build, Cthulu/maybe Ego basically any one that has dealt with Dallas at Street Torque might have a good idea on what is workable on a hipo NA build.

Yeah Pajero pistons are the go.. I went oversized so bloke went to machine shop to get bored..:P Dont know what year model.. I went nuts in the heads dont know about %s though..

Make sure you use Genuine Mits head gaskets as they are metal and 100x stronger than after market one.. Dont know what ACL offer..i went with RPW race Extractors then modified into a 3" flang..:P

Good luck with it.
Give us a hoy if you need anything..:)
