Hi guys,
Just wondering about my exhaust options, I've done the search and the main response seems to be that I definitely want to go with the Lukey LR2779, but do I want to go to 2.5 inch pipe or do I want to stay stock, and what exactly do I need to change (at a basic level) to actually get some noise out of my baby?
I know I could go nuts and turbo it up and all the rest, but I basically just want it to make a little bit of noise and need to know what I must buy in order to achieve this.
Thanks

yeah i no most ppl love the LR2779 but if you want to make noise i reckon its one of the last mufflers you want to get..
ive had one and found it way to quiet.. its about the same noise as a stock sports/vrx as its nearly the same muffler as fitted to these cars from the factory...
ive also had the full redback catback system and also found this to be far to quiet.. it did sound nice though.. just not loud enough (for me anyway)
best ive had is a magnaflow rear muffler.. loud when you boot it but quiet enough when cruising around..... there expensive though...

...everyones opinion on what "sounds fantastic" will differ, personally, and i think for gremlin as well, lol i could easily do with more than what ive got which is a custom 2 1/2" press system with a resonator, thru to a 7" barrelled cannon with a 4 1/2" tip... lol was thinking about making it a dual system with a cannon on each side, but decided against it when i found it was a heap of messing round... Simple answer: If you want noise and dont give a rats about anything else then get a cannon, itll be loud and annoying on the highway but sweet as around the city. (make sure you get a good one with polished stainless steel, or itll sound **** as)
Cheers,
Adz

Cheers guys,
Still unsure though, I don't want crazy exhaust noise, just a 'little' more grunt out of it if I put my foot down, so would the Lukey take care of that?
Should I also look at changing my pipe size up or down?

I have a 2.5" system and straight piping between catalyst and last muffler (jap muffler). Many thinks i have ha V8 inside :) but i have a 3.0L DOHC. It should make some noice from your SOHC too i guess.
Atleast change your rear muffler

Do you have a 4 or 6?
Either way, high flow cat, 2 1/4 (or 2 1/2 if you must) system, manderal bends. Scrap the resinator in the centre and try the lukey or redback on the back. If you are a little too loud, (usually with the 6 this is an issue) get the redback resinator put in to take some of the harshness out.
If you have a 4cyl, you can get extractors, if you have a 6, they can be got but I would hesitate before I used them.

I've got a 2.5 inch cat back into a silenced cannon, its sounds really nice, its not your typical cannon eilter

Actually probably should've mentioned some details about WHAT I want to strap it all to.
Its a v6 TS Manual.
Probably going to follow what Madmagna's said sounds like fair advice now to do some more research and shopping!
