When i bought my Verada in a private sale it had 232,000k on it, still going strong.

Was just looking at the sticker on my windscreen, and it says next service @ 251,000k

is it normal, or right or whatever to not need to take it in for a service for ~20,000k

20,000 is only 10 months.
In a younger car i would not be suprised but in a more aged car i woulda though 10,000 would be the norm.

Yeh i would say it's a different kind of service to your typical mechanical service, which for a magna are 15k kms if i remember correctly (mines currently 3k overdue  ).

just make sure that the timming belt was done at 200,000

or you may get a nasty surprise

and just checking the sticker (to make sure :P)

unless A&T Automatics in Toowoomba is a tyre shop, then I doubt that its tyres (even though i need to swap back with fronts or but rims)

sounds like its due for a service. you can stretch them out on new cars but older cars with more km's need them done more regularly. mine has 144k and i do at least do the oil/filter every 5k/7k and major service at 10k.

That would mean a transmission service, not a car service as transmission services are
separate. In a normal car service, all they do is change the oil and check for any error
codes, however, a proper transmission service does a hell lot more and costs about $150
on its own. Generally, auto trans should be serviced every 50000 kms.

so basically i should do a service myself (Ill find a guide somewhere) or ring up a mechanic and get them to, BEFORE 251k km

You can do the service on the car yourself if you know what you are doing but leave the
servicing of the auto trans to the professionals.

The earlier 3rd gens required car service every 10000 kms the later ones every 15000 kms.
Either way, when they changed the timing belt at 210000, that's propably when they did
a service on the car. So, if yours requires a service every 10000, then its due for a service
at 220000 and if it requires a service every 15000, then its due for a service at 225000.
Since you bought it at 232000, there may have been another service between the timing
belt service and when you bought it.
