Wow...that is truly pathetic.....

As I've said, I honestly believe they should reduce the 380 in size a couple more centimeters (both height, width and length - which wouldn't be hard) and market it is a super powerful mid-sizer (in comparison to other mid size engines).

At least then it'd put them in a unique market segment...its not like they are going to risk losing their large car market share !

I hope low 380 sales are just because of series 3 coming out soon.
But damn Toyota are really kicking some ass at the moment.

Actually it seems to have been a bit of a dog of a month, sales for most models seem to be down fairly substantially, although VE looks fairly strong.

Corolla has been booted temporarily out of it's number 2 spot to the Mazda 3 and Yaris. Also MIA is the Holden Barina. I wonder if both Toyota and Holden had some supply issues this month.

Mind you, we are about 3 months off the new model Corolla.

Falcon has continued it's below par performance, to be expected with a model so close to the end of it's product cycle, although FoMoCo has been boosted by the stable Territory sales.

Reducing in size wouldn't be hard? You obviously have no concept in whats actually involved in building a car, or you would realise just how much money a "small" change like that would cost. And as for being in a unique market, thats been the main problem for Aussie made Mitsi's for years. FWD not quite a large car, not quite a mid size, not quite a sports. Now we have the 380 that is a large car, problem is it doesn't look like it is.

You obviously have no concept in whats actually involved in polite discussion on an internet board. I have no concept ?. Don't talk down to me. Who the hell are you ?

I wasn't talking in terms of money. I was talking in terms of still being able to provide an acceptable amount of interior room so as not to alienate those who want something bigger than the standard small to mid size car.

Obviously I wasn't meaning they can just push a button on a shrink ray and magically the car will be a tad smaller.

Obviously reducing size requires times and a lot of development dollars.

You never know, it may be a feature of series 3, along with the mivec engine, 08 Lancer style nose, ESC, curtain airbags, 18 inch wheels, and everything else people are mentioning could be included...

:DWell in your defence, the original TN Magna was a Mitsubishi Sigma that the designers stretched 15-20cm in the middle.

You left off RWD/AWD haha.
A mini bar fridge built into the dash would be handy too,
And don't forget the ford/holden seeking missiles  .

The missiles might be pushing it on a base price of under $30 grand.lol

Luckily they would cut costs. The missiles would be made of styrofoam. There would also be a twin engined version, but for an unknown reason, most likely cost cutting, the australian missile will be single engined only.

The same single engine would also be used across the board for sports missile version, which really is only a "sports version" in that it has aggressively styled missile fins.

There will also be constant rumours of a more powerful, forced air ramjet missile, of which MMAL will build one prototype, but ultimately will be killed by the bean counters. MMAL will hope to still benefit from trying to cause as much publicity as possible around this air ramjet missile, but ultimately, the single foam engined missile will remain.

We get our first new Corolla next week! Where the hell did u hear 3 months from:nuts:

Also like other new models coming out, Toyota aren't doing any run out deals on the current model as production was stopped end of march,

Also I can tell you the New corolla will be priced from 20990 plus on roads.

Also next week I should be able to let you know how much the TRD Aurion in both sports and luxo models will be

There was an interesting article on consumer satisfaction and reliability survey results, which car companies try to hide. Mitsubishi cars have done quite well. Outlander tops the small SUV category, Colt, 380 & Pajero have been above the average levels for their respective classes. While Lancer was below the average level for it’s class.

There are many reasons for lower 380 sales, things like lack of ESC & curtain airbags, lower engine power output, interior plastics, front grill of the base model, wait for series 3 …….
