Hi all,

I'm new here :D

I have a 1980 Magna Wagon and am having trouble with the rear offside seat belt - i.e. it sticks when trying to pull it out and therefore it can't be used.

I was going to be brave and have a look at the problem myself, but I can't seem to remove the inside bodywork to get to the belt mechanism. Is it just a case of using briut force or is there another way to remove the plastic panels without breaking them?

Thanks in advance 8)

Hi mate welcome
I hope you hve a 1990 magna as they were not made in 1980 lol

Get a new one, never play with these as when they will need to work they may not.

Im pretty sure the answer is brute force, put your fingers (or lever with a screwdriver) and look in, you may see clips to assist getting it out. But most of the things im my 89 sedan require brute force, and you most prolly wont break them.

Those things are usually a sealed unit im sure, so your prolly gonna have to replace it. If you get one from a wreckers MAKE SURE it hasnt been involved in an accident because safety things like seatbelts cant be used a secont time. Id buy new.

Oops! An early 80's anyway (TP I think).

Thanks for your help - I'll have a good tug ... erm... you know what I mean. If all else fails, I'll take it to a garage - as you point out it's not worth risking someones safety if I don't do a proper job!
