7 months ago i had a aftermarket horn installed, dont worry i still have the original horn just in case of a cop pulling me over, but in the last week it just stopped working when i was at a mates house, i havent used it much, and all the cordes and pipes are all still attatched, has anyone got any information which could help me fix the problem. it sounds like its just blowing out air and there is no sound.... help me if you can.

Errr... Air in the cylinder? - these airhorns use a compressor. Sounds like either the compressor isn't producing enough air, or the diaphragm on the airhorn has burst.

There may even be a hole in the tubing or the compressor may be struggling to hit the PSI it needs to to make sound.

Can i check if these are the problems my self or do i have to get someone to look at it for me, if so whome, and is it worth it?

Where are the horns mounted? Behind the grille? In the engine bay? If behind the grille, is the compressor mounted vertically with the electrical connections pointing down? And where is the relay mounted? Behind the grille? If these 2 items are mounted out where water can get em my past experience with FIAMM airhorns is that the electrical connections don't like water and you will either get the compressor running and no sound or just no sound at all. Either way, I suggest a quick call by the auto electricians and get em to have a listen and give a diagnosis.
Oh, and if you do have the horns out behind the grille, move em to inside the engine. It's a whole lot less long term hassle, they look cool there and there is actually minimal loss in sound.

its in the engine bay, and the cords and connections all face down.

Ok, so we can safely say the electronics are OK - we know they are dry, and we know the compressor is puffing some air OK. Logic says that this only leaves a problem with either:the pipe that feeds the air from the compressor to the point where it splits into two with a Y-joint to feed the two seperate air horns
or the compressor is not puffing enough air volume to sound either horn
To test these theories let's try two easy things with the main feeder hose. Get someone to repeatedly blow the horn for you whilst you run your hands over the main feeder pipe to see if you can feel any pinholes blowing air out of the pipe. If you find a hole tape it tightly with a few winds of insulation tape and see if you get horn sound. If you do get sound then you have found the problem and just need a new length of pipe. You can get the clear plastic pipe from hardware stores for less than $1/metre.
If you find no holes, then this would suggest that the compressor is just not pushing enough air. As a previous contributor noted that would mean a new compressor, as these units are generally note serviceable. And a new compressor would mean buying a new set of horns as I doubt anyone will sell you the compressor seperately.
One thing for sure is that it won't be the horns themselves as it would be pretty wierd to crack both at the base at the same time (which is the only remaining possibility for no sound from both horns).
Let us know how you go....

got a pair of FIAMs here too that I should really get around to installing;
way too many idiot clueless other drivers on the road lately.
With air horns, especially the cheap china ones... pointing the trumpets
forward thru the grille can let water into the thing & rust it out.
Corrodes the diaphragm, horn doesn't work anymore.
So don't point them forwards, point them downwards.
take the hose off the compressor and give it a soaking of wd.40 sounds like its dry
