Have you taken it to a tyre place to check your alignment/balance yet? That's the first thing i'd be checking (unless you can actually here something loose).

i just had an alignment and balance and replaced left hand side steering rack but the problem still persists, my dad sits in the back and can hear metal on metal rubbing when it does it

I know its quite scary when your wedged between a truck and a wall and the car starts to wobble. mite have to take it to a suspension and/or a smash repairer to see if anythings broken

jack the rear up and see if you can see any scrub marks.
have you lowered your car?
was the car shaking like this before you got your allignment done?
you might have a buckled rim that might cause the car to shake alot under high speeds.
where is the scrubing sound coming from? left or right?

what speed does it start wobbling at?
and is it actually wobbling like side to side or is it shddring and buncingup and down?
also you said your dad can hear metal on metal rubbing is it more of a viberating sound?
if its like a viberating sound id say your wheel bearings might need replacing

It starts wobbling at about 80kph but mainly when i hit a slight bump in the road and when i back off the accelerator
its a side to side wobbling like its got a outta control trailer hitched onto it
not to sure ill have to check with my dad and get back to you

Might sound stupid but make sure all you're wheel nuts are done up as tight as they will go.

Might be the axle (hub) bearings. Jack the rear up and check for play in the hubs by moving (rocking) the wheels by hand. Does the car make a grinding sound when your turning around corners?

not all that sure on whether it grinds or not but there is a whistle though

i'd say your rear swaybar or panhard rod type brace is either loose or completely broken. i have had this happen on an old commodore i had and it swayed like a mother. mine broke because the tow bar was rubbing against it and wore through.

I had the same problem fitting my new rims.
Wheel nuts.
Take it to a tyre place and get them to screw them on.

OK admit you have no idea and take the car to the car Doctor.

Makes you wonder if it has been in any major accidents and just patched up

the culprit was a flat spotted tire, a broken front right control arm bush and a bad alignment not as bad as i thought.
