I am hoping someone can point me in the direction of an EGR thermo gasket for the 3.5L magnas....trying to get hold of it before QMD drags. Waiting for a reply still from philcom and could not see anything on rpw website...any ideas?

Where is this EGR? Someone said mine could be blocked and causing it to pop out the cam seal (no idea if this is true or not but was suggested to me as a possible cause of the cam seal just popping out)

i know...but the guys that fitted the extractors drilled the hole in them to operate EGR, so i want to keep it on but keep the heat out of the intake....mits only factory thin

Nah the holes only get drilled if there is EGR. The 3.0L's dont use EGR nor do the KE Veradas, Unsure of KF's but I know TH/KH onwards 3.5's do.

Don't believe anyone makes a "thermo gasket" for such a purpose. You could try making a sandwhich of 2 or 3 stock gaskets with layers of gasket goo in between as glue. You will just need to make sure it is flat and even.
A big piece of wood with a few bricks on top, and a flat surface underneath should do the trick. Let it set overnight then trim up the edges with a stanley knife.
Having said that, Thermo gaskets or not - it's the heat soak when the engine isn't running that will get your plennum really hot (on account of the lack of cool air being drawn thru the plennum ), and waiting in the staging lanes is the killer. Best you could hope for is leave your bonnet open the whole time you're in the staging lanes and hope it cools down completely before it's your turn.

Contact Barry - he makes insulation gaskets including one for the EGR.

Hi Magtone
I assume that you want to block it off completely
I can send you 2 gaskets - they are legal and have a hole smaller than normal - then all you need to do is make a blank gasket out of, say an aluminium drink can and make a sandwich of it
Works quite well but don't use it forever as it will eventually burn through the alumimium
Let me know (PM) your address again and I'll put them in the post tomorrow
Cheers, Barry

you could use a little .5mm mild or stainless plate with a gasket on the plenum side as the gasses will burn through a gasket on the EGR side.
