HEy guys im interested in doing an engine conversion, even though my magna V6 TS is running beautiful atm the engine will eventually die considerin i have done 381,000 Ks on it.
And i love the shape of my car so i rather just change the engine. So im lookin at what options are better.
I have been lookin at the 6G72 DOHC engine but im very interested if the 6G74 MIVEC DOHC engine can be put into my magna. Would it be an easy swap? can it even be put in? Prices?? Is it worth it? so any recomendations would be awesome
Thankssssss

i think form memory that the 6g74 Mivecs won't fir in our 2nd gens they only fit in 3rd gens, so the only motor that will fit is the 6g72 DOHC or DOHC TT(i think) out of a 3000gt, dimante, ect.. have a read of this

I thought the DOHC 6G74 engines were out of Pajero's, right? and they won't fit into a 3rd Gen because they are East-West and 3rd Gen's are West-East... I also thought 2nd Gens were East-West, which to me would seem to say that a Pajero engine is aligned correctly to fit into a 2nd Gen.
if there's some other reason (like it physically won't fit), then enlighten me.
cheers,

the DOHC 6g74 3.5L will fit. As seen in the debonair, it's not mivec. No mivec engines will fit 2nd gen's from my knowledge.
There's a few round the country

206kw was the limit of the gentlmans agreement which is what the 8a80 had. if you do get an engine as rare as that parts will be to hard to get. better off getting the tt dohc outa the gto or twin turbo the 6g72 sohc?:P

Plus going the DOHC 3L into a 2nd gen will not require a mod plate because of the upped engine capacity, the 3.5L would.

in nsw it doesn't. I have to get an engineers certificate... can't remember why. (qld)
