ok, i put in an amp and a sub in the boot today. everything went well and to plan, the sub sounds awesome. what i thought id do though is rewire the amp that was running my rears to the front speakers since i dont need the bass from 6x9's anymore. now this amp is screwed down under the passenger seat.
time for testing, everything started off fine, couple of tweeks here and there with settings and whatnot. the dash was still apart and the passenger seat was out. there was a pop on the left hand side and the right front speaker (drivers side) cut out. now, that pop could have been 1 of 3 things. the left driver (still working), the amp (seat was out so it wouldnt have been buffled), or the crossovers which are located on the passenger side in the footwell and mounted on the side of the centre console. two things to note: the gains were below middle, and if i set the sound balance to the right hand side (where the speaker isnt working) the left speaker is still playing. this did not happen when the amp was running the rears. ok, reasoning: i dont think its the left hand side driver. it could be the crossover as if i had blown the 6.5" woofer in guessing the tweeter would still be working and the woofer would make horrible noises. it could be the amp somehow?
any ideas and suggestions much appreciated, thanks guys
