Right Hand Reverse Light not working - Change the globe
High Level Brake - possibly a globe as well
Windscreen Chip - new windscreen approx $200ish fitted. my chip ended up turning into a crack.
Auto Lever Light not working - thats easy to get to after you take the centre console out
Windscreen Washers not working - probably a dud pump on the washer bottle
Front Engine Mount Shocker Bush - wreckers for about $5.50 for the shocker. i think its pointless, i replaced that whole mount for a manual one to eliminate it. the shocker is probably dead.
Intermediate Exhaust & Centre Muffler & Rear Muffler - try getting one at the wreckers, we've seen some good ones that should get you pass roadworthy.
Right Hand Rear Upper Shocker Bush - to take the rear shocker out is easy - 30minutes max
Left Hand Outer C/V Boot Torn - for what it's worth, replace the whole driveshaft with a reconditioned one - approx $110... i've been through many cv joints on my car... ball bearing cages snapping, splines breaking clean off... i just get new reco'd shafts with new cvs.
Front Engine Mount - they are hard to find second hand without cracks. replacing the mount is easy though.
Rear Disc Pads - easy to change over brakes - $40ish for new decent pads
Adjust Handbrake - easy to do as well, adjustment is under centre console... new pads might fix this though.
Throttle Sticking - carby cleaner & rp7 the throttle on the carby, wd40/rp7 down the throttle cable. mine tends to get stuck cos of the cable and the cruise control though.

if you have any more questions, just ask... i've had to fix most of these problems myself over the years i've had my magna.

rack end? sounds like the balljoint that joins the steering tie rod to the steering knuckle. usually the rubber boot on those becomes split (same as the boot for the balljoint on the end of the control arm)

I will get a clarification on it as its obscure. Thanks for all the great help. I am going to enjoy the minor rebuild....
The Vehicle has done 185,076 K's and I hope my son will get some years out of the old girl yet....:)

High Level Brake (Is that the light?) Not sure what this means?Guessing that's the 3rd brake light, the extra one up the top. Think they are usually refered to as "high mount", not "high level".

worth taking it to another mechanic and seeing what he can find.

At $88.00 a pop its just best to suck eggs but the thought came across my mind...
My Brother in law is a mechanic and has over 20 years experince so if I get really stuck (and I will ) I am taking the car to him too bad he doesnt do RWC's:cry:
He's got a hoist so the exhast and the other minor major items will make it easier to work on.
I have other vehicles I have worked on such as the (Please no Flaming) Suzuki Sierra did the rear wheel bearings the Rear Brakes shoes fixed front end problems wired head light looms minor things but I did them.... Going to love to fix this beast to RWC though....too bad I have to fund the repairs till my son pays me back....:)

Ok here is more on the saga of the Mitsubishi Wagon... Took it to the tyre place to get the tyres in order....remember the tyre with the nail in it now FIXED the tyre with the rusty rim NOW fixed .The spare tyre which was unroadworthy FIXEd with a second hand one Balance all 5 tyres too $50...

The chipped windscreen in three spots WELL again cheaper to replace so $155 later new windscreen and YEP you guess it when Windscreens O'Brien replaced the screen there was some rust...So they took it upon themselves not to place a warranty on it:bowrofl:

Well tommorrow some more work on the beast maybe the disc brakes (Rear Ones)

Still yet to figure out what is RH INNER RACK END???

to do with steering but my Brother in law the Mechanic said leave to him so.......
But as soon as I get a clification will post this

Also need to look at the carby as there is a rough idle possible vacuum leak or general problems with the carb will look at it more close on Sat
Will check the hoses with the Carb cleaner spray trick and also check the 4 bolts that tighten the carby. Its not ideling steady and is going upto 2000 rpms then floor it a few times goes back down... Not really sure what the problem is Would love to have some pics diagrams etc

As a courtesyFront Engine Mount Shocker out of an ECU (Not sure if they are the same) Second hand $15 they look the same....

The front L/Hand CV Axle $40 the first one he gave me went back ten mins later as the Boots looked like they would crack in a min.....

So the"Rebuild" to get it Road worthy is costing but not to bad as first thought:doubt:

Looked at the carby today PHEW it still runs rough when the car manages to start.....
I could work on it for hours and still not get it right....

There where 2 cracked rubber vacuum lines at the back of the carby (firewall end) on of the hoses went to the Dizzy area and the other hose to the firewall. I cut the cracked pieces of and reconnected... Still revs to 3000 then boot it a few times then its sometimes idles at 800 rpms but rough... I "fiddled" with the choke adjust screw I think it was called that the large knob at the back of carb it did increas in revs then I backed it off till it slowed down (yeah I know should not touch this)
Holy Crapp the amount of lines going in to the Carby!!!

Ok final closure my son finally got the roadworthy..
After the Carby refurbished for $481!!!! As I suspected the second butterfly was stuck and a list of parts replaced but the biggest sting in the carb was the "ahem" the Choke wax pellet$114.50 I think its cheaper to buy dope on the streets than some freaky wax:rant:
Carby kit was $39.57 Sec Diaphragm Rem. $45 Carb Cleaner $11....
.
.Labour as it was a complete remove and strip and reass. then install test$227.20

But when it came back it was SMOOTH AS SILK. It started perfect it idles on 800rpms it does not miss a SINGLE beat and when you feather throttle it to 60 k's its close to a ROLLS ROYCE SILVER SHADOW.. I **** you not.....

One more slug of the RWC tester for two rear shockers supplied and fitted for $258.00, Brother in law had over looked it.. I had no choice to get it done as rego is about to run out. I rechecked my notes and Repco could have supplied a RH Rear upper Shocker bush for $22 Part number 43081-
New shockers will now let the Son do things in the back of the wagon with additional safety:bowrofl:
Karma will catch up with people who have done the wrong thing:shock:

I would like to thank all the posters here for assistance And a big thanks to OL" Fart and Magna Buff:)

not so good at adding up
but it looked like more than $1000 for the RWC and a bit going into rego and insurance

about right price for a good first gen wagon

So true in fact there is a few car yards come wreckers selling Vehicles between $1100 to $2000 WITH RWC TWELVE MONTHS REGO!!!!!! Now rego costs $520!!!

Anyway the vehicle is in "touch wood" in good nic:)
