whats that got to do with the exhaust system tho? it does it really bad when cold when it starts to warm up its gets a better note but its still there, someone said new hotdog might take it down to a muffler shop when its back on the road

well i was under the impression that there is a few (1-3) resonators in the zorst and that members had removed them for better sound. now ok i don't own a 3rd gen and had no intetion of doing this mod so im not exactly sure on whats involved or what it does . just noticed a couple of threads on it. im the kinda person who like a sports muff instead of a loud milo tin (cannon):D . so i guess search about the resinators to see if it could do u any good or just disregaurd what i said simple:D

hey mate i have a 2.5 inch lukey sports exhaust on my 4G64,after getting my exhaust fitted i noticed after a while that it didnt sound rite, more like the loud noise of a lawnmower,i got a hotdog resonator put in (its like a second muffler) it will make your car sound less louder but IMO its well worth it,let me know how you go:)
oh and i paid like 80 bucks for mine includeing installation which isnt too bad
cheers,

Hey D!GG3R

Before you do any expensive alterations, try my fuel rail kit

It is always better to tackle the problem at it's source

I guarantee they make quite a difference

Cheers, Barry

How is the fuel rail the source of the problem :gtfo:

2.5" Hotdogs are about $60 fitted, my V6 does this and I've changed the muffler to try and get rid of it. The second exhaust shop I went to said my damaged extractors were causing it, so they fixed them and it's a lot better, not completly gone but it wont go unless I buy some new extractors

If its a glasspack muffler it'll do that until the fibreglass heats up. Either get a higher quality muffler or learn to live with it.

The muffler place may decide that a resonator is needed, but most good muffler guys arn't even aware that the very act of changing the extractors is what causes the problem ie the MAF is now reading a different breathing value, and the fuel is burning further down the exhaust pipe where you hear it at it's worst

IMO you should fit the kit first -

What you stand to lose:
30 Mins of your time fitting the kit

What you stand to gain:

Better, quieter tone from your exhaust
Improved and more responsive throttle
Low cost - $29.50 with a money back guarantee
Better combustion and less soot to block up your CAT

WMCISay?
