taken from factory bulletin uppdates distributed to all dealers at the time pointing out the rattly timing and lifter probs :bowrofl:they were unwillinging to put there badge on this one as they sent it to dealerships to advise of there faults thus the black and white document

i had a read and didn't see anything out of the normal. apart from maintainence (sp?) or lack there of and normal time vs wear and tear.
well apart from the hood hindges:D

well apart from the hood hindges:DYOU HAVE TOTALLY MISSED THE POINT ITS MITSYS BULLETIN OF 88 WHEN THE CAR WAS NEW AND THE DEALER FAULTS REPORTED THEN HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH LACK OF MAITENANCE

thats proably why mitsu had a bad image when it came to reliability back in the old days...

i'd almost count this as a 20 year old thread mine?
sure, they had issues back then, if they're still running now. good on em!

so if you do have any factory reports on the oil pump being the cause of the rattly lifters please post them in here so we can read them

Isn't the rattle problem related to the hydraulic tensioner on the timing chain?
