Hey,

I'm a complete newb to cars and I've been checking out the '94 TR/TS magnas. I gotta say i like the look of them but i dunno how much i should be paying for a used one.

Here are all the specs the ad for it says.

1994 (dosn't say if it tr or ts) V6
its got air cond.
alarm
Central locking
tinted windows
165,000kms on the odo
alloy wheels
rear spoiler
for $5200

(i hope its manual!)

theres all the details, also I've been told that cars have different costs in different areas eg. in QLD it would be more than in NSW to buy one? Reason is i live on the Gold Coast. Thanks for your guys help anyway.

5200's not a bad price.

I'd offer 4500 and see what they say. They'll more than likely say no...but you're much better to offer too low than to find out you could've gotten cheaper.

A good tip is to manipulate THEM into giving the first offer. It's a bit tricky sometimes...but you'd be VERY suprised at what some people will take.

But even at 5200 that's a good price. My 93 V6 manual TR cost 5990, and it had 216,000 on the clock.

Yeh i went to have a look at it today, wasnt much impressed by it. it was auto and the paint job was worn down. I've only been looking for a month or so, so I'll keep looking. now that I've got a good idea of how much i should be paying for one. I'll probably check out some other 4d sedans like a falcon or commodore/camry. Cheers,
Jon

Yeah if it wasnt in that good condition then 5200 is way too much.

5000 is what you'd pay for a good condition average kilometre TR/TS V6 auto/manual.

yeh $4500 to $5500 seem to be the average price range where i live. it really depends on what condition it is in

keep looking my friend, i spent 3 months looking for a decent 95 TS in a V6 manual and finally found a decent 1 with good paint and all round good condition, they're out there just gotta find 1. i paid $6,500 almost 2 years ago and they're still pitching the same sort of value for a really nice 1

The Magna is better value for money. For $5K, you'd get a VP Commodore, an EB2 Falcon, or a later narrowbody Camry (4cyl), perhaps early 90's Cressida. You could get a pretty decent TR-TS for $5K.

I didn't know they had 5speed Veradas (other than the later semi-autos), I thought all Veradas were automatic.

You'd wanna double check that.

There's only 1 Manual verada that I know of.

Yeh, i don't know about this car, havent seen it. I got this friend who can get cheap cars tho (not stolen! he got a 300zx for 13,000 too). So he told me about it. Maybe the old owner changed transmission (as unlikely as it sounds).

And deanodriver i havent found any of those models you speak of for 5k or under (bad condition or otherwise). the only place i search for cars is in the autotrader. Where do u guys search for cars?
