I got a dose of bad fuel the other day. I drained the fuel outta my car and replaced it with some premium unleaded. Before i drained the cars fuel it was running sh** house. no power idling rough as guts, heaps of black smoke etc etc..
Drained the fuel put new stuff in and it is doing the same. As well as when i rev it water comes out the exhaust (not a little...a lot, im talking a small puddle).
I drained the half a tank out the car that i put in and it definatly had water in it as the fuel and water separated.
So now it runs like crap, pours out smoke, idle bumpy to the point the car shakes, water comes out of the exhaust and to top it off my car smells like a steam train and sounds like a red rattler (with poor power) when you drive it.

any ideas will be much appreciated

also put some metho in your tank, helps break down the water, but not to much cause in the end it's ethonol

Metho is not ethanol, its methanol and ethanol. Ethanol (95%) and methanol (%5).

I wouldn't overdo it though. Have you completely drained the tank and lines?

my car did it the other day, just put in some new fuel and let it idol for a while, then mine went back to normal. i was scard at first, thinking that my ring(s) had gone.

damn, wish my problem was that simple., my dizzy loom corroded and i carked it at the exit of a servo lol

Id suggest taking it to a dealership/mechanic and getting it checked over. But other than that, give her a service (oil and filters).

Actually it was. The fuel was black. I replaced my fuel filter and completly flushed the tank and its ok now.

Ok - so what made the fuel black? Water certainly doesn't and you mentioned steam coming out of the exhaust.

WTF are you trying to say? Would you like a pic of the petrol as i still have it so you can forensically examine it??

I'm trying to say that water in the petrol doesn't make it black.

I'm curious to see what made it black. That is all, so calm down.:cool:
